Chablis: Light gold color. Aromas of oranges, lime, preserved lemon, crushed shells, lamp oil, honeycomb and raw almond. Medium-bodied with laser-like focus and acidity, a pure and zesty wine. Minerals, river rocks and crushed shells on top of lemon, lime, green pears and orange peels, add in some white tea and honeycomb notes. Lacking a bit of density and intensity I look for in a Grand Cru, still very good stuff, though

Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): This was reasonably dense, with some pineapple character, and despite the nice extract, it was like the components didn't integrate together too well, leaving a somewhat simplistic expression of the individual components, as opposed to a unified whole. I also found this a bit too sweet and fruity, and lacking a lot of the acidic cut I like in a Chablis.

Wife's birthday dinner at Kinghams (Shere). Limited note taking. Racy, clean white-stoned fruit with a distinct but well judged vanilla/light oak frame, minerality and balancing acidity. Very forward wine for a Grand Cru from a reasonably good vintage; for drinking over the next couple of years max. If not exceptional, nonetheless a very well made crowd pleaser.

A little thin and lacked concentration. Some green notes, didn’t transcend the weaker vintage in Chablis.

Raveneau-esque nose of honey and iodine. Racey acidity. Lacks the concentration I'd expect from a top Valmur but I really like where this is today!

Flickinger Customer Appreciation Tasting (Casino Club - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Maybe this just wasn't a day for Chablis, but this was pleasant and simple, clearly not showing Grand Cru density. I'd cellar this a little longer, but drink 2-5 years from now.
