Black cherry core with a slight orangish tinge at the rim. Super funky nose initially. Merde, compost, sweaty saddle and dried red fruit at the back. Later on some of the funk dissipates and more dried red fruits emerge and a touch of green pepper. Then the funk comes roaring back together with bandaid - clearly some brett. Dry palate, dried plum with the skins, tree bark, dried cranberry and chalky tannins. Very dry and tight on the finish. Not a lot of fruit or pleasure left. Probably the brett damning this bottle to mediocrity. NR

Nice cork; dark colour; dusty tannins; dark fruit, tobacco, cassis, hint of olive; long finish; plenty of life in this bottle from a challenging vintage

Patience rewarded. Medium garnet with medium plus intensity red cherry and blueberry. Dry, high acidity, tannin, alcohol and body. High intensity blueberry, vanilla and dried fruit covering all the bases. The finish is medium plus resulting in an outstanding offering.

Brought to restaurant, decant for 30 mins, drank along with 2011 Fleur Cardinale. This is the more Bordeaux of the two (Fleur Cardinale was more new world style). A cool vintage in BC, but this still drinks great. No lack of fruits or acidity. Tannin is integrated with layers of dark fruits, smoke, leather, tobacco. Med body, Med+ finish. Still got lots of life ahead

This is a solidly crafted Meritage or Bordeaux style blend, but a bit overpriced at $45 (CAD). I'd buy it at $35 or below. On the nose, blackberry, black current leaf, cherry, vanilla bean, underripe strawberry, rhubarb, black pepper quite apparent and a hint of lean meat similar to Northern Rhone. On the palate, not as complex, repeats of more red fruit, pepper and vanilla. Good backbone and well integrated, medium plus tannins and acidity.
Pair with a filet of beef with a lighter peppercorn sauce.

A nice bouquet came off immediately upon decanting. Good fruit and body with a dusty dryness on the palate. At its best immediately upon decanting, but seemed to fade slightly over the evening. A good Bordeaux style wine to enjoy with a nice meal.

Noticing some more ripe, jammy aspects of this wine which put it more in the New World camp, but still there is some noticeable tannin and acidity on the finish. Match it with a steak and it works well.

Medium dark bruised plum with a garnet rim. Classic mature OL nose of mulberry, cedar bark, red plum skin, spice and light fennel. Quite lovely actually with the mature red berry fruits to the fore all underpinned by the subtle earthier tones. Medium bodied and quite smooth - barely any tannins left. The flavours on the palate are tart and dried red berries, plum skin and cedar bark. The acidity is a bit high and the finish is dry which, combined, comes across a bit tart. Overall the palate does not do the nose justice. Good with food but not a sipper.

Popped for Canada Day weekend. Nice deep dark ruby red grading to a slightly garnet rim. Fresh and cool nose of mint, leafy black currant, crushed mulberries and suede. Medium bodied, very smooth but very dry. Dried fruits on the palate: red currant and red plum skins with cedar slivers and a bit of tartness on the finish. Not too bad. Has held up fairly well, but won't improve any more.

Dark mullberry reddish purple. Black raspberry, blackberry, suede and a touch of cocoa powder on the nose. Smooth entry. Lightweight on the palate. Black plum skins, tart acidity, some fine tannins still. Very dry. A tad oaky and stalky. Needs food to soften the edges. Not a sipper.

This is just ready to my palate, and benefits from a couple of hours decanting. Straight out of the bottle, it shows too oaky and wound up. This lives up to its reputation as a Bordeaux from British Columbia. Enjoyed it.

Venturi aerated and decanted for 90 min. Deep red, long slow legs. Cassis, some vegetal, barnyard notes on the nose. More cassis and blackberry palate with a thick smooth mouthfeel. Medium finish. Improved over the evening. A Very nice wine.

Clear, dark mauve with pink rim, and very sporadic slow-moving tears. Clean, med intensity, with aromas of stewed plums and blackberries, dark hawthorn and stale cherry cordiale, wet orange pekoe tea leaves with a hint of jamminess. Dry, light acidity, med tannins, med alcohol, with further tastes of mulberries, black cherries, malt, soy sauce, and black olives. Nice long finish but the jamminess too sharp on the nose. I was so stunned with the beauty of their early vintages but this seems to have grapes picked a bit too late.

Flabbergasting good! Loek has found and bought this wine in Canada and it was one of the stars at his anniversary tasting. A very young colour, as if recently bottled, in the bouquet smooth, a whiff of eucalyptus, an impressive power and inner core in the midtaste with some cocoa, mocha and also much fruit from the start to the long and lingering aftertaste (67% Merlot, 20% CS, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% CF and 3% Malbec); an amazing wine!

One hour decant. Deep red-purple , medium legs. Appealing nose of black currant (cassis) and vanilla. On the palate black currant (cassis), raisin, oak and mineral notes The body is medium/full and has a smooth, silky texture. Well balanced acidity and medium finish. The 2010 is drinking very well right now, very enjoyable

The palate is medium-bodied with pleasing aroma replays and some herbally notes. Mouth-watering acids. It's smooth with silky tannins and excellent length on the finish. Will reward with 2-3 years in cellar.

It's unpleasantly dry and austere, not interesting, maybe it's a bad bottle, I have yet to have encounter a good bottle of this.
