Tastes like cherry cola - I even sensed a very slight bit of effervescence. Unusual wine but interesting and very unique. Maybe you could mix this with rum and have a rum and cherry coke cocktail.

Time has mellowed out some of the spritzy and tart issues with this wine. It showed really well. Bright young red fruit. I got mostly plums. Not a lot of peppery or brambly characteristics. Just yummy fruit without the sweetiness. Rounded edges and still pops around in mouth with bright, youthful acidity. Now I get it. These wines need rest and this bottle showed why. No apparent heat on finish.

Popped and poured. The name is very appropriate as this is just a cherry bomb in the mouth. Nose is cherry, palate is cherry, finish is cherry. No VA evident, a little bit of sweetness. Not sure where this headed but a fun drink now.

58% Zinfandel, 27% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre. Deep ruby color. Aromas of wild cherry. Flavors of cherry, anise and blackberry. Surprisingly still full of bright attractive fruit. Noticeable alcohol but aren't all LC wines this way? Fruit forward finish. A guilty pleasure. 16.2% alcohol.

I have lost my loving feeling for Linne Calodo that I had for a few years, but this bottling continues to be the exception to that. Is it classic, well behaved and traditional? Ahhh...no. It is purely hedonistic. Not overly heavy, but just a cherry jubilee. From the nose to the finish, it is like slurping a cherry/rhubarb pie with some cinnamon for added flavor. I did not get any VA that others mentioned. Also, surprisingly, this still seemed young with life ahead (unlike my other LC's of late). If you go into this with an attitude of doing so for fun, this hits on all cylinders. Is it stuffily serious? No. Kind of like frosted pop tarts when you were a kid.

This bottle appeared to go through a secondary fermentation in the bottle. It was slightly effervescent on the tongue and was quite unenjoyable overall which was a big disappointment. This wine was great when young - it was a mistake to age it at all.

I held onto this one to see what an "older" LC zin might do. Overall I think I liked it better with all its flash and brawn. Its still a nice wine that has definitely mellowed. Some interesting secondary aromas on the nose, and the fruit is definitely referred to cherry for a reason. Seems to be losing ooomph in the mid palate and if held too long I'd worry about an alcoholic finish. Decent enough but Im going to continue drinking the LC's within a year or two of release.

Drinking really well after a thirty minute decant for the fizziness to disapper. Deep cherrydark fruit. Well integrated still very young. Smooth tannins

Way too much VA on opening. I put in the decanter and left over night. On night two, the fruit seems to have disappeared and it is a bit bitter. Lets wait another day and see what happens. Now 48 hours after opening, this is beginning to work. A decent amount of fruit has shown up, no noticeable heat and all sharp edges have smoothed out. This is now for the first time quite enjoyable.

really enjoyable bottle. A bit of heat, but served a but too warm. Tons of bright red zin fruit, but with a terrific balance, acidity, sweetness, tannins and deep flavors - plums, vanilla, cherry, etc.

Huge nose of condensed cherry, blueberry and cedar. Mid-palette shows the zing typical in this bottling but the VA is creeping up. Tasted the 05 Outsider next to it that was loaded with VA and could not even drink it.

A touch of VA on the nose. Cherry, raspberry and earth. Rich extracted finish. Noticeable alcohol. Why do these wines always seem to show better at the winery?

Very deep and dark purple color. Very pure nose of cherry and vanilla and a seamless palate of high toned red fruit with a bright and long finish. Did not detect some of the nuances that the Carlisle and Outpost zins demonstrate, but this is one laser beam focused zin. Very nice.

Dark violet. Nose of cassis, candied cherries and some alcohol. Taste was cherry pie and cinnamon. Excellent from a hedonsitic standpoint. I love this way.

Deep, dark ruby red in color. Almost black. Cherry nose and palate that it's known for. Rich and concentrated. A bit primary right now compared to on release.

Decanted for 1 hour. This is a deeply concentrated, "blockbuster" of a wine. At 16%, I was surprised how undetectable the alchohol was (until this morning's hangover, that is). The nose was pure cherry liqueur and on the palate it was a wash of dark cherry and raspberry fruit with a seamless oaky-vanilla backbone. Pretty one dimentional, but lighter on it's feet than I had anticipated. Didn't over power the selection of homemade pizzas we had for dinner.
Not my preferred style, but an extremely well-made blend that will be fun to drink now and again.

Needed to warm up and get some air as this was super closed right out of the bottle. After 45 minutes, however, showed interesting spicy fruit characteristics on the nose, with a spicy raspberry being somewhat predominant. The palate is still tight, but showing red Zin-berry, some bramble, and there is plenty of structure in this huge wine. Needs at least a couple years before it will really start to show its best, but can certainly be enjoyed now. I think the future holds a few more points at least.

Decanted for 20 minutes. Full-bodied wine that is dark magenta in color. On the nose, briary blackberries and vanilla oak. On the palate, beautiful blackberry essence, lightly tart black raspberries, and a little brown sugar on the finish. Mouth-filling, silky, and fruit-laden offering with amazing balance in its hedonistic package. This wine fit the bill perfectly this evening!

16.2% alc...asphalt highlights initial nose, vanilla, red fruit - bright, not dark - smoky, floral, dense...velvety, silky smooth, the same bright raspberry, accompanied by viscosity, richness and deliciousness. Now, a word to the wise, this wine does show a touch of heat on the palate, not nose, that is even apparent at 55 degrees. FWIW. I likey, but the alcohol subtracts a point or two.

This blend is spot on imo for LC. Not overdone to raisin/porty like some others. Brighter fruit, but still rather thick mouthfeel that just coats everything. Finish is great. Best LC Ive had to date.

Great fruit, spice, and an amazing mouthfeel. The wine has a lot of activity in your mouth, but it's not spritzy. It's also very well balanced.
