Sour cherries, earthy, somehow 'organic', juicy... sometimes a little petroleum!? I liked it, and as a matter of fact, I like Montepulciano. A variety which never disappointed me, so far I can remember.

Pale ruby coloured. Aromas of sour cherry mixed with jammy blackberry notes. Soft and easy-drinking with feathery tannins showing a dusty edge to the ripe black fruit flavours. Some warm, tarry accents on the aftertaste.

Nose: raspberry, cherry, violets, earthy Taste: medium bodied, medium acidity, medium+ tannins, red fruits, earthy, gamey, rustic, very old world style, needs time 2hrs in decanter is changing this wine from undrinkable to very solid wine 86+ I left something for tomorrow so I may change it to 87 Edit: 2nd day would rather say 84-85 :)

Ok I see why Gambero Rosso gave the a big plug for value. Fluffy gamey tannin (daggy Euro style) won't be for everyone but good for me. Red fruits are generic and lack immediate appeal but needs to be put in the context of a $10 wine.

Nokså fyldig vin som er mørkerødlilla i glasset. Noe anonym nese med hint av kirsebær. Smak med rød frukt og noe krydder/urter. Mitt inntrykk er at denne egner seg godt som sofavin. Greit med vin til prisen.

I have to start off by admitting that it was my first Montepulciano d'Abruzzo or any Montepulciano-based wine in that matter. The colour was a classical ruby red, hence appealing, and it had slow to medium legs. The nose had some earthy notes and hints of black berries. The palate was medium-bodied, quite round and apparently mineral and had low to medium acidity. The aftertaste was persistent, but not overly interesting.

Dry as a dead dingo's donger. Has depth of flavour and good nose. Medium tannins. Drinking now.
