Very solid cork. Tightly sealed. Some bricking as expected. Crunchy red fruits. Plenty of persistent fruit balanced by the acidity and tannic structure. Consumed over several hours after opening. This may improve for a few years as the tannins resolve. I think there is enough fruit here to support another few years of development. It is nevertheless very enjoyable now.

Dark crimson ruby. Lots of iron, sour cranberry, cherry, ash, tree bark and faint potpourri in the background. Light-medium bodied palate confirms the very tart light red berries, hummus and iron, high acidity and an astringent and drying finish. Meh.

Brick red in color. High toned aromas of red small berries, florals, spice, peppercorn and tree bark. A medium bodied and spicy palate follows through with crushed sweet-sour red cherries, hint of savory mushrooms, medium acidity and a slightly astringent & woodsy finish. This was not bad for 2004. No green meanies here!

Burgundy Tasting (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Ashy and stalky; herbaceous...classic 2004...over blackberry. In the mouth it's juicy with blackberry, that stalky note, chalky tannins are very drying. Alcohol warmth. Meh.

Ruby with slight bricking throughout. A whiff of green meanies that fades to the background with air to reveal sour cherries, cranberries, oak and hummus. Medium bodied palate shows more tart and less sweet bright red berry fruits, medium acidity, no tannins and a clipped savory finish showing prominent oak. Eh...

Restrained liquorice and red fruits, forest floor, no presence of green notes in this wine. Palate had good acidity and medium ripe fruits, medium structure.

Cranberry and cherry. On the lighter side. No green/veggie flavors.

Benefitted from decanting for an hour or two of air. Interesting aromatic of wet steel or wet stone and minerality, but a touch thin on the palate.
