Two Burgundies: I know not everyone can agree if borderline corked is a thing but I thought this was a textbook example. Superb lifted, floral aromatics with fleeting wet cardboard notes. Tart cherry notes on the palate but slightly muted. Some sweetness on entry, with spicy dark red fruit. A lovely airy, satiny texture that was almost Vosne-like (or as a previous taster said, Rousseau-like but not enough personal experience to verify). Would have been more balanced if not for the slight cork taint.

92 pts

Offered as an extra after the 5 Pinots. Bery nice showing as well, especially for the vintage, finesse and elegance and of good level too. 90-91

Really nice showing, and surprisingly, fairly open. On the leaner side of medium in body, with a very nice satiny texture. Almost weightless. There's good freshness throughout, accented by an interesting grapefruit note on the nose and palate. Shows nice depth, with Gevrey appropriate dark fruit that’s only slightly sweet. There’s good supporting spice and overall balance, with mild tannin and oak impression. Really opened up gradually over several hours.

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted a couple glasses non-blind over a few hours --
NOSE: grapefruit; spicy pomegranate; pretty; very nice.
BODY: light to medium-light bodied.
TASTE: tight; strong grapefruit, which I enjoy greatly; high acid; 13% alc. not noticeable; little bit of very fine tannin; not the most structured or most serious of Burgundies by any stretch of the imagination, but I enjoyed this a lot --- it's my kind of Burg! Gut impression score: 91 – 92.
