($40) Looks like the color of rusty rose petals in the glass with significant translucence. The nose shows black cherry fruit, a strong whiff of copper Pinot Noir funk. Tangy black cherries on the palate. Decent, drink sooner rather than later.

($42) Translucent ruby in the glass. The nose shows toasty oak, chunky red berry fruit, and scents of mushroom and forest floor. Medium-full bodied with more sweet red fruits on the palate with a tangy finish. Decent, slightly underwhelming.

Consumed at Fresh restaurant with duck risotto and pan-seared breast of chicken. Bottle brought from my personal cellar. Bright disc. Light-to-medium ruby robe with pink rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of dried cherries, cranberries, clove and mocha. Light-to-medium-bodied on the palate, with relatively high acidity and light sweet tannins. The flavors mirror the nose, with the spicy aspect moving to the forefront. Medium, tart finish. Very nice, but the acid in this wine is playing an increasingly dominant role.

Consumed at home with roasted pork loin. Bright disc. Medium ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of bing cherry, black tea and exotic spices. Medium-bodied on the palate, with slightly tart acidity, light sweet tannins and similar flavors as for the nose. Medium, slightly tart finish. Very nice, but the acidity is a bit more prominent on this bottle that it has been previously.

More pinot-like in color, but still very large and extracted. Very Syrah-like on the first day, a bit more civilized on the second. Much more open nose on the second day. Lots of plums and spice.

Bright disc. Medium ruby with red rim. Clean nose, showing quite intense bing cherry, smoke, vanilla and spice. After two hours of aeration, brambly aromas enter the picture. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium sweet tannins and similar flavors as for the nose. Medium-to-long, smooth finish. Drinking beautifully. Far superior to the 2001 version, with much more forward aromatics.

Bright disc. Medium ruby with red rim. Clean nose, showing up-front bing cherry, raspberry and spice. Well-balanced, velvety-textured and medium-bodied on the palate, showing similar flavors as for the nose. Long, smooth finish. Beautiful example of what Central Coast Pinot can achieve.

($40) Sweet blackberry nose - very pretty. Rich, medium-full bodied with great purity of fruit. Acid spine. Just lovely fruit. A couple tasters found this one a bit too confectionary, but I thought it rocked.

red. Nose was interesting, slightly oxydative, dried herbs. Taste was medium weight, good enough.
