  • Very mildly corked. Given that I'm in a housecleaning mood, this went down the drain.

  • Took this to a friend's house and opened it for more than an hour. Had it with a chinese meal with chicken, pork, fish etc. The wine was well structured, and before had other bottles, but this one stood out as a classic bordeaux wine. The large format (1.5L) may have helped and hence everybody was pleased and liked it. Dominated by tannins surrounded by fruits with a decent finish. I may consider buying fe more large bottles of this for taking to parties.

  • Decanted for 30 minutes. Nice purple color. Closed at 1st then opened up, would decant a little longer the next time. Light to medium bodied wine with dark fruit on the nose and palate balanced with good acidity. The tannins overshadowed the fruit initially but this got better as the night went on. Paired very well with grilled sirloin, etc... A nice bottle for $12. Will wait a year before opening the next.

  • Very good with steak tartare. Took at least an hour to open up. Should have decanted longer.

  • Bordeaux tasting at Nectars wine bar. Fruitier in style (more new world style). Nice traditional nose. Strong tannins. Slight metallic flavour. Mid to high good (84.5).

  • Popped/poured. A bit tight at the start, but this wine has all the right stuff. Straight-forward, what you see is what you get. Easy to drink now, with cherried fruit, wood and medium tannins nicely balanced if not yet fully integrated. Medium-bodied, medium finish. Very food friendly, as it's humble personality is very adaptable to a wide range of food styles. Tomato based stuff, steak, burgers, traditional Italian, etc.....it would all pair well. I imagine that this will score higher as it ages, and will be off to pick up another few btls tomorrow. At $16-20, this is an excellent QPR.

  • Sweet chocolate, herb, and ripe berry on nose. Light to medium bodied. A bit hollow on pallet. Balanced acidity. Tannin could be finer. Finishing is bit short too.

  • Garnet-crimson; blackberries, plums, red currants, cedar; berry, cherry, slightly spicy, medium-full body, good acidity, decent structure, firm tannins, decent finish.
Decanted 2 hrs. Elegant Bordeaux which opened up and developed cherry flavours over dinner. Slightly better than the '02 due to riper fruit and more body. Very good value @ $17.95. Hold for 5 yrs.
