Excellent rapport Q/P!

  • Inexpensive crowd pleaser. Little background funk on the nose. Ripe yellow apple. Round mouth feels, with a dill finish.Paired well with NYE lobster risotto.

  • An affordable white from the Maconnais. Lightish body with a pale gold color. Green apples and citrus on the complex nose. On the palate the acidity is in balance - present but it won't take the enamel off your teeth. Pleasantly long finish. I largely agree with Mr. Chaterjee's tasting note below, but I rate the wine higher. For an everyday Burgundian white this is a good value, especially considering the next significant step up to a Premier Cru could easily cost you 3x or more.

  • Great complexity of aromas: a bundle of citrus, wet limestone mineral, and edgy high-toned peppermint. A touch of sweet volume (interestingly gone with airation) and zippy lemony acidity. Long butterly finish.

Day3: a bit fallen apart. Still a value at this price point ($18).

  • Lovely everyday wine. Notes of green apple, pear, apricots, grass, soil. Crisp and refreshing. Very good good value for the price. It is a little light bodied for a Chardonnay, but one cannot expect much at this price point. The fact that the wine still manages to deliver a refreshing and nuanced taste is quite surprising. Do not get me wrong, this would not compare to a good chardonnay from a more prestigious appellation of Burgundy. But what does manage to show at 1/6th the price in terms of bouquet and taste is quite good. This is a shining example of being able to get good values from the Macon region. This wine should find a place in every cellar as a good everyday drinking wine.

  • Lime, lemon, crisp, butter, pear, lots of limestone, more strict than the Sous le Bois; delicious, great QPR.
