Enjoyable, big, powerful WS Pinot. Paired well with both duck and steak. Typical VV character. Still youthful, but not clear it’s going to gain more heft or interest. Enjoy now and for perhaps another couple of years

Upon opening, the combination of stewed and fresh red fruit, subtle cola, and gentle oak made this unmistakably ripe California Pinot. As it got some air, the whole-cluster aromas took over and made it unrecognizable.
Everything is there structurally. Plenty of acid to make it not feel too jammy and nice velvety tannins. But the stem overpowers everything else and really detracts from this being an enjoyable wine. Poor QPR, even compared to equivalent level Burgundy.

Mature and balanced. I believe the drinking windows on Ct for these Williams Selyem Pinots are, in general, too short. This was drinking wonderfully tonight, and might not get a whole lot better, but there were no real signs of age, and it could easily go another 5 years. And could get better. A bit more subtle than the typical WS cherries explosion in the mouth, this was more restrained.

This medium ruby wine offers an attractive core of raspberry and red licorice, accented with lavender potpourri, dried herbs and black tea. Medium-bodied and with good lift, it stays solid in the middle and finishes medium-to-long. This well-cellared bottle showed well. Comparably cellared bottles should provide enjoyment for another 3-4 years. Drink now-2024.

Really enjoyed it. decanted for an hour and its flavors changed throughout the night. nice flavors of fruit balanced with wood and barnyard funk (the good kind) or mushrooms and hay. great maroon color for a well aged wine.

I really liked this. 91-93 points. Strawberry, dried cherry, and a bit of bakers spice. This can last another decade easy but I felt this had good structure and in a good.place

Fruit has almost disappeared form this bottle. Smooth, easy drinking, but may have missed optimal window for my tastes. Not developing Pinot funk like burgundies often do.

From a magnum. Young but good. I have had much better WS though. Maybe more time will allow it to evolve. Maybe this vineyard is not for me. Certainly not bad though.

Solid but not nearly as good as the Weir I had last night. Day 2 update: lost quite a bit of energy on 2nd night. a bit of a disappointment given how much I've liked past vintages of Vista Verde

Last bottle of VV from this vintage. Similar impression as previous bottle (i.e. - good but not great and certainly not worth the price Williams-Selyem charges for this wine) The 2013 tastes like a mid-range Russian River Pinot that was exposed to heat at some point. Dark cherry and plum but with a hint of stewed tomato that detracts from enjoyment. I hope the 2014’s and 15’s are more like the 2010’s and 12’s that were delicious.

Pretty good but certainly not spectacular. We preferred the 2012. The Vista Verde has long been one of our favorite WS offerings but this vintage didn't have the same vibrancy as 2012, 2010, or 2009. Tasted blind, I would not have been able to place this wine as there wasn't anything special about it.

Going strong. Great Pinot nose and flavors, not too Californian. Good acidity still. I think this will be a little better in 2+ years.

Stored since release. This is starting to fade after an hour of air in the bottle. Simple and a bit acidic. 87/88

Beautiful and elegant. Dark crimson hue. Nose is black cherry all the way. Taste is medium bodied and delicate yet finish is long. Great wine by WS.

Nice nose of fruit and spice. Simple round smooth on the palate. Very good example of Pinot from this region. Crowd pleaser.

Bright berry fruit and citrus. Palate is a bit tannic. The fruit is more generous than the allens vineyard but less refined and detailed.
