Interesting and different, showed some cloudiness at pour, which turned out to be just a touch of frizzante in the glass, and quickly disappeared. No detectable RS, however, and comes off like a warmer-climate New Zealand style, showing lots of green hay-like flavors, with background lime and tart tropical in the background. Crisp acidity, and a lip-smacking medium finish.

Tropical, pineapple, gooseberries on the nose. Lovely acidity, lightness, refreshing. Again the flavors are very tropical with pineapple, zesty lime. Very close what you get from Marlborough of NZ.

Hanna has crafted another delicious, well-priced Sauvignon Blanc that pairs perfectly with light fare on a balmy summer evening. Bottled with a twist-off closure, it is pale yellow-green, light-bodied, crisply acidic and has seamless alcohol (listed as 13.2%). The wine delivers an olfactory and gustatory payload of lime zest, thyme, melon and coriander. Solid in the middle and concluding with a medium-length finish, this well-balanced offering overachieves for its sticker. Drink now-2017.

We visited the winery, we bought the wine. In the quieter comfort of the home, one is able to give a more considered opinion, and I found that it matched pretty closely the impression formed at Hanna.
This is one of the better-value SBs out there. If you like a lot of tropical fruit, bracing acidity and a touch of minerality - and all for around $13 - then this will do well.

This is a very good Sav Blanc! Tart with passion fruit, grapefruit, and herbaceous notes. A classic.

Drive by tasting on our Alexander Valley trip: fairly tranquil and rural hilly charm far from the madness of Highway 29 in Napa.
Pale straw, intense grassy, tropical notes, bracing acidity. Excellent wine for the price.
