Sunday night sausage (bratwurst from Blacksheep farm). Very yummy. Good stricture with good fruit. The spice in the wine helped with the sausages. Good finish.

Drank over 2 evenings. First night, PNP. Wine was decent, but not particularly noteworthy or complex. By the second night, the wine had opened up; the cherry and red berry notes were much more noticeable along with some more earthen notes. Nice smooth extended finish on the second night.

In the minority on this one it seems. I visited the winery up on Pritchard Hill in July -- a beautiful spot, graciously hosted. Carried this home to Pennsylvania with some of their signature Cabs. PnP, nothing at first. Gradually opened to cherry and spices, dry, medium finish. Reticent nose, and a bit one-dimensional. Hoped for more for the price -- will try again in a few years. Maybe should have decanted.

Excellent pinot. Definitely pick up the cherry and rhubarb, along with the pomegranate. The wine has a very long finish. Drank it within a few minutes of opening and the wine was terrific right out of the gate. No aeration or breathing required. Continued to open up as the night went on. No need to wait too long to try this one.

Chappellet Tasting Notes: Offering all the depth, lush fruit, and elegant spice associated with the finest Russian River Valley Pinot Noirs, this voluptuous wine displays vibrant aromas of cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate, as well as notes of nutmeg, clove, rose petal, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is concentrated and mouth coating, with a lingering richness that carries through to a silky, focused finish.

Deep ruby PN with nose of fresh cherry, tart raspberry and some floral. Wisps of earth and black pepper. Dry, medium with good balance. Cherry and raspberry, slightly bitter and black pepper. Compared against 2012's blend. This one was a bit sharp. Give this another year or two.

Drinking very nicely. Possibly just reaching its potential. Wish I would have waited longer to drink my 1st bottle.

Thinner than I expected. Lacking in body and mouth feel. Good, but not good value.
