Reading the prior reviews I agree: smooth red fruits, mostly raspberry, a well balanced wine, with a medium finish featuring vanilla. A nice bottle for sure, but not a 93 pointer. Palate is thin, lacking depth of fruit, and it has no real complexity -- it did not improve with air. Grippy tannins I assume mostly from the oak. Nice sizzle but no real steak :( I guess I am more like Tanzer in my reviews than Suckling ....

- Brick color - Blackberries, leather, tobacco, medium tannins, hint of smoke. Very good hearty autumn drinker for $15. MoreRibiero del Duero than Rioja.

Thanks for the friend request and note.
To answer your question about sourcing wine in Anchorage; everything I buy except the occasional Costco purchase is online. Mailing lists and online retailers. Adds cost but really the only viable option.
sorry for the delay in responding. We are in TX for the winter and since I don't have access to my cellar I don't use CT as much.
Sounds like we have similar tastes in wine and share the view that the best use of good wine is drinking it with friends.

Well done! Give it a new try! Ardanza, at its range, is superb. Just 18€ at retail here.
Burgundy and Rioja us the best combination in earth for whom loves great pleasures in life.
Keep in touch

Agree with reviews. Drinking well, silky smooth, terrific QPR if you have been patient and aged 14 years.
