Similar to prior bottle; it has good structure and went well with spicy food but has only modest fruit and depth, which I believe is related to its drinking window closing. I had this wine 3 years ago and it was excellent.

Fruit is diminished suggesting drinking window is closing; wine was cellar-stored. Pleasant to drink but without honey layered flavor that I associate with Zind-Humbrecht; indice 1 so dry with balance.

MNB: Grab Bag (Home (Noe st)): (non-blind) Clear, bright, medium minus gold color. Some tartaric acid crystals - not cold-stabilized. Reductive rubber, musty wilted flowers. This has turned and no longer shows fresh fruit. Slight honey from possible botrytis. Sickly-sweet bruised apples (acetaldehyde). Bruised peach skin - decaying nectarine. Faint touch of RS - maybe 2g (actually 3.1g RS), medium body, medium alcohol (feels 12.5% - actually 12%), medium plus acid, slight phenolic bitterness. Hints of white pepper and fresh flowers (the remnants of terpenes). This is dead, faded.

Blind tasted in a single blind lineup of aromatic whites. At first thought this was Gewurtz but then went Albarino. Candied orange peel, second taste shows higher alcohol, there's a spice component, waxy note. Not sure I've ever had a Alsace Muscat before.

Zind Humbrecht 2013 (Domaine Zind Humbrecht): The first of the wines I tried - and a fine (positive) tone setter. Taken from the gravel/granitic soils section. Just under 12 percent alcohol, barely noticeable residual sweetness (3.1 grams per liter) and a low pH of 3.1, this wine gave off expectedly grapey scents with a touch of pleasing floral aspects. The brisk acidity was refreshing and makes this a great buy.

Very good, very balanced, very Alsatian. Aromas of stone fruit, on the palate nice acidity and citrus flavors on the finish.
