You can see my other notes, this bottle has some stain power. Ballance is still a bit off with tannins and some alcohol on the finish. I think it’s still in the drinking window, but certainly some variation in the bottles this one drinks like it is much younger than it really is. Dark fruits, earthy, tobacco and a little bite in the back end.

Much stronger than the last bottle, to be fair fair I believe I got several these bottles from different locations. This one tasted like I thought it should and it’s prime drinking very well now.great QPR. Drink now or hold but will soften.

Consistent with other notes this is a nice wine, but it is pretty muted, tannins and florals have faded yet silky, smooth and on the backside. Always cellared, I hoped that it would last longer, but it is a drink now good QPR.

First of five. Dark plumb, earthy, and leathery upon initial tastings. Died down on day two and was well integrated but slightly muted. A very good offering but I don’t think it will likely improve with age.
Look forward to trying another bottle and will report back.
This was good. Had with lamb shanks. Held up well to the richness of the lamb. Fruit. Not the second layer yet. I say hold if you have. But drinks well.

91 currently - Really needs more time. It was drinking much better night two. Tasting notes to come.
Found this one very closed off at first like some 2013’s still are. This has a long life ahead and likely shouldn’t be opened for another 5 years at least. Day two it really opened up to blueberry pie, blackberry, baking spices, cedar, and brown sugar. On the palate the blueberry really came through with a bit of cedar trailing. Still very gripping tannins that haven’t quite integrated completely. Full bodied beauty that I’ll revisit in a handful of years.
Winebar [6 Whites, 6 Reds, & 2 *shared* bottles] from 9/22/17 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): “Sourced from one of our highest elevation vyds @ 2,000-2,200 elev, planted in 1999 & 2002 in Suther loam soils with multiple exposures; Hand-picked, de-stemmed, & fermented in FR oak upright fermenters, malolactic fermentation in barrel; Aged 21 months in 66% new FR oak barrels; 760 cases bottled 6/25/14. 14.5% ABV, 0.65g/100mL, & 3.76 pH;”
N: Vanilla somewhat atop ripe, jammy frt with notes of pyrazines; Intensity lurking?
P: MF body; Rndish entry with ALMOST swtish frt met by some astringent pucker which slowly, only partially works itself out by the quite LONG, SPICY, VERY slightly dustily tannic finish. A big, yet potentially elegant, style that DESERVES into mid/late '19, then drinking through its 10th yr min. IMPRESSIVELY done! 95+ pts WA, 94+ Vinous (Galloni), and 15.5+/20 Jancis Robinson (Brown, 7/18/17). [As of mid Mar '20, wine-searcher shows 2 sources @ $85 & $95].

Decanted for two hours but still pretty tight and acidic. Note to self: Self, Don’t open the next bottle until 2030.

Liked reading TMOVINO2’s review from 2 years ago.
I did not get anything that he/she got. I got strong nose of plum. Cassis and tannins seem well integrated.
We enjoyed it. It sat open for ~2 hours before we drank it.

The Rockfall was a real crowd pleaser with some bigger tannins but a longer finish than the estate.
