For about $20 at a small and quaint wine shop in 2016 this was an enjoyable wine. Definitely get some earthy/forest floor notes, some graphite, pencil, and some meaty aspects on top of a dash of classic cab tobacco. Palate is much more fruit driven. Tannins present and integrated. Decent length on the finish. Don’t see a reason to hold this much longer if at all.

Aerated and decanted for 30+ mins (probably not enough). Deep garnet. Tons of sediment on the bottle neck. Lovely ripe dark fruit, dark berries, plum, tobacco, vanilla on the nose. Rich on the palate, medium to light in body but with a consistent follow through, no washing out halfway with wateriness. Soft with powdery but grippy tannins and a lingering finish. Drinking great right now.

Decanted for almost 2 hours. Our of magnum. Aromas of blackberry, black currant, iron, lead pencil and a hint of tobacco. Flavirs of blackberry, currant, black cherry, iron and touch of earth. Ends with an iron and blackberry finish that last 15-20 seconds. Tasting very young still.

This wine was decanted a couple of hours before tasting The fruit has developed well and it is now ready and wont be much better (in my view). The tannins had softened and were easy on the palate and the merlot (7.5%) softened the finish. We ate a plate of old fashioned minced beef and potatoes with this and the sweetness of the carrots onions and celery went well with the dark fruits of the cabernet.

Decanted about seven hours before drinking. Color: dark ruby-purple. Nose: Taste: red and black fruit, soft, as good as fully resolved tannins and OK acidity. The alcohol was, although with 13%, a little bit burning. The mid-palate was a bit thin. At the second day the nose was more fragrant with fine herbs, in the taste more fruit. A rather soft and quite tasty wine, clearly from a good year, but it lacked distinct character. Can well be drunk now; further cellaring might make it better, but not more than a bit, I guess. First day (87-)88, second 88(-89).

Consumed over two days (vacuvin). Opened the bottle three hours earlier. Dark and red fruit in the nose - currant, cassis, herbs. In the mouth first still a bit tight, mineralic, slim, fresh, red fruit and on the smooth (CS) side. On the second day even a bit harsher/sharper in the body (maybe CF). Medium to full body. Really nice concentrated and long finish.

This needs 3hrs+ aeration. Has oaky aromas of earth, coffee, raspberries, black raspberries, plums, some gravel and cassis. Its medium bodied spherical, sculpted, flowing, stylish longlinear palate has excellent concentation of austere blue and red fruits with marked oak, veggie hints and nice delineation. Ends longish and aromatic with lovely tannins. Great QPR: 13%. This is a characterful wine! Can be laid down 3-5 years to really improve. Agree with other reviewers about the elevated Petit Verdot element in this wine.
Dark clolr, some bouquet, medium bodied with good fruit and flavor, wine lacks some pizazz maybe more acid and finer tannins, not sure if time will help the wine, the pros love the wine, a decent value, drank with steak, will drink again.

Popped and poured. Nose of blackberry, currant, tobacco leaf, milk chocolate, licorice and forest floor. Black and red fruit, chocolate and leather on the palate. Leads to a long, soft, dry finish. Modern BdX style. Big and brooding. Hard to let this age. Full bodied. Served with grilled cheeseburgers.
This year, the wine is very dark and brooding (I am guessing due to the high percentage of Petit Verdot). Actually needs some more time, IMO. Got better on the second and third days, but still quite a beast.
Beautiful nose of blue fruit with violet. Medium bodied palate with drying tannins that beg for some meat. It's a little hollow on the midpalate, but still very nice.
Gutes potential.
Tasted this bottle on the second day, and it featured the same density, bordering on muddiness, as with the previous experience. Not lacking for substance, it needs time to resolve. Three to five years should reveal something quite interesting.
I'm compelled to compare this to the '10 vintage, and it stands up well by comparison. Can't be mistaken for anything but French. This is almost black, with fresh aromas of mushroom and earth, flavors of dark plum notes, black cherry, a touch of anise, very dry, young tannins, showing terroir too, finishing rather short but the value is there and this is close to the '10, just lacking depth. I liked this better on the first day.
Update: I had some left over and found this to be very compelling when compared to a $60 Napa Cab. Bumping this up to 92 points.

Always a great value at $17 to 20. The last vintage I had was the 2010. The '14 thus far does not deliver like the 10. The amount of Petite Verdot used in this vintage baffles me. Super black inky color. One of the darkest wines I have ever encountered. Drank over 4 days and it never seemed to want to hit its stride. I am probably being unfair because the 10 was such a damn good value AND was the wine that turned me into a left bank fan. IMOP the Petite Verdot completly overpowers the Cab S. Big wine, thought provoking and maybe a little baffling. Tasted blind initially and still went to Bordeaux so the sense of place is intact. 89 to 90
Very interesting blend of 76 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, with 16.5 percent Petit Verdot (do not recall that much PV in a Bordeaux wine...ever), and Merlot rounding out the balance. Concentrated bouquet, true to place, though quite weighty. Dense, even muddy on the palate, featuring the same punch as the 2010 vintage, though lacking that wine's precision. Intense, with more than a little power, and it may improve with three to five years in the cellar. Far from nuanced at present, and it may never be, but certainly fun, unique, and worthy of the time it will take to find out. Serious value at $17.
This needs a good deal of air to wake up. Muted nose. Mostly dark fruit and baking spices on the palate, with good acidity and strong but not overpowering tannins. Medium length finish. Nice.
