Big as usually and for sure a bit over the top. This bottle was a bit more restrained than some neighboring vintages; the fruit shows more red, a bit more pop, garrigue in spades. In a good place. Give it some air and drink up.

Lighter style. Seems to have taken on more age than I would have expected at this stage, with red fruit well in the background and mint and licorice up front. Unless this is hitting a dumb phase, I'd say drink now while you can. This bottle was fading fast.
Des cerises juteuses sur le nez et la bouche. Elevé et vinifié de façon classique. Un vin charmant de style rustique, avec des éléments tertiaires sauvages. S'accompagne bien avec les viandes rouges grillées. Jolie découverte.

Of the 100 or so bottles held by Cellar Tracker members, I notice that almost all are waiting to be drunk. I'm not sure what folks are waiting for. This is drinking beautifully right now. No hard or objectionable tannins. Lovely integrated bouquet and palate. This wine offers a great deal of pleasure.

Jean Royer sure knows how to make CdP. Bottle took about an hour open for the fruit and balance to emerge. At that point, it revealed the most delicious bouquet of candied fruit and herbs with a lovely coffee-like finish. Wonderfully balanced, even though the bottle says 15% alcohol. No sense of super-maturity or over-extraction. I'm a believer in his approach to making this wine.

I’m glad I waited on this wine. It is coming into its own. Still a high alcohol wine but settling into a solid example of CdP.

Typical CdP, rather light in body and colour

Light color. Firm tannins partially obscure the very nice fruit, but nicely balanced nevertheless.
