  • 2021 New Year's @ Ben's!: I brought this today; didn't expect a lot actually as I have not been blown away by a Solaia to-date tbh. However, this bottle was a surprise - black fruits (albeit slightly faded), dried herbs, spices, tinge of cinnamon. Balanced, complex and in a nice drinking place. This is the best Solaia I have tasted so far. Bravo! Open soon as this is almost at the end of its drinking window IMO. 94/95

  • I guessed Bx. The "weakest" of the Trilogy of Solaia (87, 88, 90). All blind.
The tannins are well developed. Cassis, leather and earty not. Still good acidity and nicely balanced. For me just over his peak.

  • Crimson with some bricking. Medium to full bodied. Tannins fully resolved. Low to medium acid. Plenty of sweet fruit left in this bottle. Dark cherries and cassis mixed in with graphite and tobacco. Medium finish. Decanted for about an hour but was ready to drink immediately after popping the cork. At the three hour mark, the wine started to show sour cherries and became a little astringent. The cork on this bottle was prisitine. A fabulous showing. Hopefully there are other bottles out there that are in as good shape as this bottle was.

  • 各种漂亮的巧克力味道,果味也丰富,后部够平衡,就是只能持续2小时,可惜

  • Drink up now - it's hitting the end of the window. The cork basically disintegrated into the wine, but wine was still pulled together. More of the green and herbal side of things - the fruit had basically faded. Still has that great deepness you sometimes get in old wines. Paired really nicely with a bolognese pasta.

  • Italian wine really does so nicely with age although I think this is starting to get to last legs so do drink up. A bit more herbal and green (flavors which I happen to enjoy in my wine). Fruit was more plum flavored and just a touch not quite ripe. When it's in that more firm stage. Many thanks to Dom for sharing - good wine and nice to get to taste since we've got one of these from the last auction.
