This is a Sauvignon Blanc for those that like oaky California Chardonnay. One pays a very significant premium for the name of the winery. And it is much more of an oak taste compared to other S Blanc's.

This pale yellow offering from Stag's Leap delivers a degree of complexity commensurate with its above-average price. Nutmeg and chervil are beautifully balanced by succulent peach, apple and citrus on both the nose and palate. Crisply acidic and without noticeable alcohol (despite being listed as 14.5%), it builds in the middle and closes with a lengthy citrus and thyme-laden finish. This Sauvignon Blanc highlights everything that the grape can do. Those who appreciate an herbal/fruit tug-of-war will enjoy it immensely. Drink now-2017.

Very pale straw color. Has some legs. Fresh melon, lemongrass. On the creamy side. Pretty, elegant flavors, light on its feet but with a good core of fruit. Very enjoyable, nicely balanced. 4-12-16-8: 90/100.

Crisp, light sauv blanc with citrus fruits and a little minerality. Nice summer drinker with a light picnic lunch. I paired it with Pork Chile Verde over brown rice and it was great!

Overwhelming oak. Who wants that in their cali SB? Unfortunate, because the underlying wine is decently made.

Pretty simple, great wine. Lots of tart pears, needs to be cold for best results

Nic SB, nose of wet stone, taste of stainless and honeysuckle. Would be an excellent summer wine.
