  • Gaston? RATHER interesting how this one has aged. Definitely not in the gutter. The cork had just about bled all the way through. Nose of ripe strawberry and oregano. Definitely not your youthful strawberry or red fruit. The entry reminded me of pomegranate. The middle is herbal, dusty, floral....really different and quite intriguing. Finished very dry. This wine went AMAZING with Herbs de Provence chicken. I wish I had 10 more of these, because although this wine was definitely partially oxidized, age is really doing a good number on this one!! However I'll say...if you got 'em, it's time to drink 'em. But it makes me want to sock the rest of my 15 stash away for a year (as I think the 15 will hold and age much better).

  • This one is starting to show a little sign of oxidation right up front. The first half of this wine was better than the second half that was enjoyed 5 hours later. But this wine is still better than a lot of Rose that I've had even "current vintage" and has a significant complexity to it like you see with a lot of French Rose wines. On the front, this one still has a lot of rose petals, strawberry, a hint of cumin, with a middle that is still rather complex, showing nicely. The finish has a little bit of tart that this wine wasn't showing nearly as much earlier on. But this wine is still very good and I think it could probably hold on for another 1-2 years, although I'd go ahead and drink 'em now (even if you don't want to!).

  • Incredibly balanced rose with medium acidity. Salmon colored in the glass. I am in love with this wine. Very weighted up front, with great strawberry creme notes and glycerine. A little bit of limestone creeps into the middle. The wine finishes actually quite dry, but I think it's the acidity combined with the limestone chalkiness of this one that really plays with you. Still an incredibly structured rose, and likely can hold another 3-4 years. But why wait? Drink it now, because the next vintage is about a month away!

  • Trying to ration these as long as possible, and I am firmly convinced that I'm going to have to take the last one to long term storage to get my hands off it. This wine is absolutely gorgeous. This bottle seemed softer and less acidic than it was when first purchased 8-9 months ago. This wine is all about the fruit, and complements anything. You need only to want to drink a bottle of wine, and this bottle will go with it. Strawberry cream with an earthy goodness that adds intensity and complexity. The acidity on the front gave way to the fruit rather easily this time. The middle of this wine is soft, delicate. The finish is powerful with a tiny bit of grit. Probably isn't the BEST to pair this with a steak or ribs, but it certainly wouldn't be overpowered. Great Rose. Can't wait until the next vintage's release....because there probably won't be any left!

  • Best and probably most complex Rose I've had in years. Just FYI, this one is showing an awful lot of strawberry on both the nose and palate tonight. Very nice wine. Went well with a chicken soup. Wine still 93. Nice bottle of wine, and still has a ton of acidity up front and nice tannic, gritty finish. Went well with homemade chicken soup that had a little bit of herbaceousness. But strawberry note was the predominating note. Lot of life left in this one.

  • GASTON!!!!! this 2014 millesime or "vintage" is a very well made wine. An acidic wine, dry as a bone and very acidic. This isn't your novice's Rose wine.....this is a part of "the good stuff" you serve at the party that is hidden away. Cork popped and immediately a strawberry bubblegum note came rolling out of the glass. The front of this wine is SHARPLY acidic but with excellent youthful red fruits dancing all over the place. It developed a rather complicated middle that was, on the one hand, fruit filled and on the other filled with acidic-driven earthy "loaminess" that almost felt like it was dumping sediment into the glass, but was really just screwing with you. The finish is long. Very long. Delicate. But I don't feel as if this has completed its Gaston!? Awesome Rose. Will continue to do well I think. Went very well with chicken salad croissant sandwiches and gouda cheese, but not so well with avocado. Drink 2014-2019
