Another 2013 that is well on the down side. I have stopped buying wine so I can drink down all the older wines that I have. I would have thought these wines could have gone longer, but that is not the case. NR, At this stage, 80 points.

Popped and poured. Good nose of apricots, white flowers and tropical fruit. The wine is big and juicy with a tropical bent. There is enough acidity to make it work but to an Aubert tasted the same night this didn’t have the elegance and poise of the Aubert

Exceptional. Drank 2 weeks ago via Coravin and finished tonight. Wow. BUY or drink. Really in a good spot. Better than my prior btls. Did the Coravin help and allow it to develop?

Beautiful golden color and a full / buttery mouthful. Flavors tend toward licorice and herbal notes with a slightly acidic aftertaste. Interested in others pairing thoughts?

Cellared since release, perfect cork and fill. Medium yellow. Rich nose of citrus, pineapple, flowers, and a hint of smoky oak, just enough to add some complexity without being overdone. Very ripe, medium body, well balanced, medium-long finish. Excellent.

A wonderful chardonnay reminiscent of a fine white Burgundy. Complex white fruit with notes of citrus, green apple, minerals. Paired perfectly with grilled grouper.

Tons of minerality counter citrus and tropical fruit, this was a extremely well balanced wine, plenty of energy and lift in the finish. Simply outstanding

Pale color. Nose has subtle lime and pineapple fruit with honey and subtle oak. More of the same on palate where stronger notes of honey and other citrus fruits really linger. Nice acidity. Delicious.

Rich chardonnay of gold color with strong notes of butterscotch, especially at lower temperatures. As it warmed up, it came together better for me and became smoother and more fragrant. Not a great QPR.

Rich nose. Big, oaky chardonnay with leather, nuts and butter. Extremely long finish. This is a high octane wine that would need the right dish to complement. Even though i'm not a fan of this style I must confess it has the wow factor.

Popped an hour before dinner. This was a restrained example of a Peter Michael chardonnay. Aroma of spice, citrus, and some tropical notes. The palate is round and creamy, but there is enough acidity here to keep balance. The finish was long and was not (yay!) ruined by overt oak notes. I have limited my Peter Michael chardonnay buying the last few years (mostly buying just Point Rouge and Indigene) because I felt the regular bottles had gotten too bombastic. If this is a trend toward more restraint, I will be buying more PM chardonnay.

Was hesitant after reading negative ct notes. That's how ct rolls sometimes, so I stuck with the PM. I did stand it upright for a few days, and very carefully decanted. The last ounce was carrying sediment, the rest crystal clear with a golden hue. The difference in taste between the decanted and the last ounce with the dregs, big. Was a big hit, very subtle, soft, faint taste, pure essence of the grape.

Scott's Wine dinner at Honeysuckle, a bit of everything! (Honeysuckle, Washington DC): This bottle shows more heat than the last bottle. Very ripe sweet yellow, pineapple, apple pie, peach, butter scotch and sweet spices. Good concentration, bright acidity and medium long finish with a hint of heat. This is a very ripe style of Chardonnay.

I had high expectations for this wine.... It 's quite possible that it will develop well over time, but there is nothing to suggest it at this time. The oak simply overwhelms all other elements in the wine. Sadly, it fits the stereotype of California Chardonnay that producers so desperately are trying to move away from.

Beautiful but needs some time to open up. Currently missing depth on the finish. Perhaps more time in the bottle will bring out more or it could just be destined to be enjoyed young. Either way it's very enjoyable.

Dinner with Peter Kay, Peter Michael Winery (Atelier Vivanda, Ship Street, Wan Chai, Hong Kong): Light silver-gold colour. Nose is elegant and with a lot of volcanic minerality, distinct French oak, elderflower, camomile tea and some melon. Palate is dry, fruit-driven white pear, lychee and camomile. Quite oak-driven. Fresh and minerally on entry and mid-palate but rather heavy on the finish. Enjoyable but a touch cloying and no length on the finish.

True to its name, the wine is indeed a pleasure: intense and perfumed. Mon Plaisir 2013 displays an exquisite bouquet of lemon cream, fresh butter and candied grapefruit, with subtle notes of spring flowers. The palate is rich, full-bodied and creamy with beautiful hints of fresh lemons, pear, grapefruit, jasmine, Mirabelle, vanilla, whole nut and brioche. A mineral character with hints of pain grillé and hazelnut complete the mouth feel of this wine and its long finish. Enjoyable now, it will age for a decade and more.

Nice balance in very ripe Cali chardonnay way.
