Coravin. Apricot. Black or fruit tea. Honey. Peach. Luxardo cherry. Dryer than expected. Very firm finish. Paired with foie gras. Dolce is a knockout, and more consistent than buying random Sauternes.

PnP slightly chilled, opened 2 hours prior. Light bronze color. Dryer than expected, nice clean flavor but a bit tired. Went well with Key Lime Pie. Nothing off technically, $61

Deep gold color. Pronounced aromas and flavors of stone fruit (orange, apricot, peach), honey and marmalade. A sweet, dessert wine with medium to high acidity, medium alcohol and a long finish.

I was a bit apprehensive when the cork snapped in two, hoping I could get the rest out without further ado. I was lucky, just one floating bit. You can never trust the provenance of a State liquor store bottle btw. Having said that, this dessert wine is medium gold in color with very viscous legs in the glass. The nose has pronounced aromas of apricot marmalade, honey, vanilla nib, candied lemon peel, creme caramel, peach pie and dried hazelnuts. The longer it sits there the more tantalizing the nose gets. The palate is sweet, as expected from this late-harvest and botrytized blend of Semillon and Sauvignon. Blanc. There is some great acidity here that balances out the sugar perfectly leaving me with a very slippery wine with amazing mouthfeel that just transcends the palate from front to back with such ease. The weight of this wine is sublime, full-bodied yet light and airy. The finish is long and just a tad juicy from the acidity. The whole package is amazing- worthy of 98 points that the pros at W.E. gave it. For 375ml expect to pay $75. A stunning 5 star wine that I will be serving with Blue Cheese and crackers after dinner.

Purchased for $68 on release, and its a killer bottle, coming into its own even though they are on a roughly 7 year release delay; IMO the finest Sauternes style from Cali, always enjoyable; tons of honeyed apricot, long, luscious finish. Always a crowd pleaser and one of my personal faves! Drink or hold. Great QPR, holds up easily to equivalent Sauternes.

This wine is a deep gold in color. The nose has a medium (+) intensity of aromas including honeysuckle, dried apricot, candied orange peel, candied ginger, near neutral oak, fresh cut grass, and just a hint of button mushroom. The wine is developing. The wine is lusciously sweet, high in acid, has a full body, a deep complexity, and a long finish. Flavor characteristics include honey, dried apricot, candied orange peel, ginger, and cooked mushroom. This wine is of outstanding quality and is ready tondeink, but can still benefit from ageing.

"Everyone knows German Reisling wines do not age." (Chicago, IL): From half-bottle. In the grand scheme of dessert wines, just not quite there -- this is dessert wine for Napa drinkers. The nose and palate show a fair bit of botrytis influence, but there are also some spicy elements that are more in line with gewürztraminer (especially the lychee). The palate is the weak spot here; this lacks acidity and finishes quite bitter.

What's not to like about this well-mannered, robust, yet sophisticated dessert wine? Guava, apricot, Creme Brule, honey, peach, pear, lemon, pound cake; dessert by itself or accompanying, in our case, made from scratch brownies. Always a special treat, this vintage appears to have a more fully textured mouthfeel than the previous version, leading to a silky, full-length finish of almonds and sherry. Absolutely lovely!

Easily the best Sauternes style wine from Cali - the 2012 is much less available than previous vintages; but its significantly better than its 2011 counterpart. This has honey and guava all over the place, this liquifies into darker honey and apricot with sherry notes toward the end - and what a great finish. Despite this flavor profile, it retains some degree of airiness, which is impressive. Drink now or hold.

The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like apricot, peach and guava. It tastes like lemon, peach, apricot, mango, honey and baker's yeast. The body is light/medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long.

Really enjoyed the wine. We never pull out the dessert wines enough but a few times a year I’m reminded we need to do more.

Quite nice with the best key lime pie in south FL. Great color, good palate feel, a bit thin not as thick on the palate I would want.
