The stock is rising on this one. It is still a bit hot and disjointed (tasting kind of rustic for the region), but it has fleshed out some. I like the cocoa and Indian spices today. Also, gobs of iron. While each successive bottle has been better than the last, my intuition is to drink these soon as I think they will decline shortly.

Better than last year. Still this is a bit mean and hot, especially on the finish. I like the tobacco and spice box but this is not all that enjoyable. Time will not help this.

A bit of forest floor on the nose. Still quite tannic and could use a few more years of cellaring. On day two it was better, with the tannins having settled.

Always a good bet and up to the usual standard, with a little more fire and bite than previous vintages. There is a bit of chocolate on the nose and hints on the attack, but otherwise plenty of authentic red berry fruit and a decent finish. Only just entering maturity and will probably improve further.

Still going strong, fully mature, the wine offers a charming, rustic blast of cocoa, dark chocolate covered cherries and wet earth aromatic profile. There is lots of flesh and a nice sweetness to the earthy, dark, red berries.

This is a bit unyielding and wound up quite tight for an 05, particularly for a cote de bourg. Definitely more old world than new, which I appreciate, but this wine is not giving much at the moment. To say it is not fruit-forward is definitely an understatement. EtOH is hot and tannins are drying. For sure this should be decanted, which I'll do w subsequent btls, but not sure this has the stuffing underlying the tough exterior. Not convinced time will help this one either.

A very nice value Bordeaux and it is at its prime. Nice notes of cedar, minerals and dried plum. It has a medium finish on the dry note with good balance.

At this price this is great stuff. Aged Bordeaux is never a bad thing, especially if it happens to do so well! With a little air the bouquet comes together wonderful, it's all here: dried kirsch, mineral, a bit of cedar and spice with great acidity. Considering this baby is just shy of 9 years old it's still kicking! Great value at this price

the finish on this is what did it for me. i aired it for two hours before drinking it and based on other reviews, I think that might have helped considerably.
a touch of fruit immediately which pretty much goes away within seconds and settles into a nice taste on the tongue.
I am honestly surprised at how much I loved this wine.

another candidate for thinning out the cellar. no great shakes here, drank the last two bottle this week. No reason to keep these. The winemaking style is too heavy handed and just isn't worth the effort given the substandard terroir. This is another example of a wine that tastes great on the first sips and lets you down as you finish the bottle.

Nothing like previous bottles yet, not corked either, just flat dilute and over the hill in quality This is yet another example of the unfortunate variability problem of lesser domaines in Bordeaux and Rhone to a greater extent

Excellent wine for the price. I was pleasantly surprised. I need to buy more for casual drinking. It went quite well with a wide variety of foods...pizza included. Dark ruby color. Bright bouquet with hints of berry and smoke.

Dark with complex aromas of black currant, toasty oak, creme de cassis and blackberry. Dry, but with a nice intensity of fruit on the palate. Tannins are big at this point, really cutting the finish short. This should improve with short term cellaring, however.

This was past its best. Still drinkable, with a chunky body and tannic structure, but the fruit is very discreet indeed so really, not a lot of fun.

I've had bad luck with this wine. Way too earthy, extremely tight, a 3 hour decant barely made it drinkable. Dirt and tannins - no fruit.

Not much aroma on the nose, but a flash of blackberry and cedar on the palate that quickly leads into a medium finish with residual spice.

A great wine that developed significantly the past couple of years. I wish I had more left.

Nice smoky blackberry and pencil lead. A bit rustic but rich and nice to finish the night after some more elegant Bordeaux.

Some curious earthy tones on the nose. Delivers some nice cherry/berry on the front palate, but doesn't follow through.
Just an average wine in my view. No point aging this one any further I figure - drink it up very soon.

A better bottle, but nothing remarkable here. Coming across as too "grapey" and not very interesting.
