Six years on from my initial note and my only question is, "this wine is so good, can it get any better"? The simple answer is yes.
It shows up now with great acidity and beautiful black fruit. As it evolves, it certainly expresses less toasted oak and cocoa powder giving this a long term potential of easily another 10+ years.
But, the mouthfeel is the absolute star now. Silky smooth and luscious after 15-20 minutes of air with no decant necessary.
This must be considered the premier 100% single varietal bottling of Cab Franc coming from Napa, and it's not even close.

Loving these Cabernet Francs from Coombsville. Dark ruby red. Lovely nose with perfumey and floral notes. Even some black berries and cherries. Moderate tannins (7/10) with great acidity lining up the structure. Some softer dark fruits coating the full body and long finish. Drink till 2028.

Medium red color. Moderate aromas of clay, berry, must and age. Off dry with medium body. Crisp acidity. Medium tannins. Fair balance. Moderate intensity. Flavors of spice, berry and raspberry. Good. Would drink again.

I am absolutely in awe of this wine and of what this wine will become over time. Well structured tannins with balance that is layered with red fruit and a hint of toast and dark cocoa powder on the long finish. Must order more before this wine sells out!

Everything I love in a new world cab franc: ripe and aromatic, lithe and elegant. This is singing right now and I wish I had more.
