There seems to be a bit of bottle variation at play here. The last bottle I opened was delicious this one seems to be very heavy in sulfer. Even resting in the decater the wine seemed to stratify.

Opens sharp, but quickly smoothes out. Wine is orange/deep rose. Initial nose is full of fruit, but smoothes out to just a hint of apples, pears or something like them. Taste has hints of bitter roots and minerals. Initially a spicy aftertaste, but as with others, that's gon after smoothing out. Interesting.

Wow! Why can't all pinot gris be this good? Unlike any other I've had. Orangeish pink color. Rocks, flowers, pear and a hints of herbs and mushroom on the nose. Strong minerals, some grapefruit, flowers, pear and herbs on the palate. Light acid and light tannins. Drinking well now but if this weren't my only bottle I'd be curious to see how it ages. Intriguing and tasty.

This was an odd one, even by this tasting's standards. Orange color that looks like an older rose. The plate is just - strange. More of a thinking wine than a drinking wine.

Has everything I like about orange wines and none of the stuff I do not. No brett, oxidation, or excessive tannin. Gorgeous bouquet and incredibly expressive. Guava, papaya, blood orange, hibiscus. Super cool stuff.

Grapefruit, marmalade, dried hibiscus and rosehip tea. Sparkling acidity and good balance. Complex and a great new world approximation of an old-world skin-fermented style.
