  • This was just beautiful and one of the best cali pinots I have had. It was rich , flavorful, and concentrated yet perfectly balanced. multiple layers of berries, pomegranate, plums, spiced dark tea and orange peel are all surrounded by a velvety texture lingering on a long finish. in a perfect place and exactly what i look for in a pinot with 10 years of age on it.

  • Rich and extracted with great balance.

  • Lot's of tart citrus on the nose and palate. Palate did reveal some raspberry pomegranate Pisoni fruit after some time but was still dominated by the tart citrus and remained so over the course of a couple hours.. Not sure what to make of that. Bummer.

  • A subtle nose of cranberry, strawberry, blackberry, hardwood forest floor, caramel and touch of boot polish. A very nice, caressing mouthfeel with creamy black fruits, dark chocolate and an earthy note. The finish shows good balance and length. Showing its elegant side but I prefer the power of the last bottle. I suggest drinking soon.

  • We popped and poured. Loads of black raspberries, anise, forest floor, and sweet citrus on the nose. Within 20 minutes, any hints of youthful tightness were gone leaving a smooth, robust, palate-coating quaff. Sweet black raspberries and black cherries over a thin layer of earthiness and mushrooms gave way to a long lingering finish of orange juice, blackberries, plums, orange spices, and tea. Wonderfully balanced with nice SLH acidity, this wine has matured beautifully and carries itself with a refinement that speaks well about its vineyard and winemaker.

  • Took this to dinner at French 75 in Newport Beach. Opened and served immediately. This is an interesting wine -- both confusing and complex at the same time. It is the kind of wine that makes you do a double take, kind of like you would do when confronted with a gorgeous transvestite, or a Thai ladyboy. On the one hand, it is a very masculine pinot: rich, concentrated, and bold, with muscular flavors of black cherry, smoke, asian spices, and forest floor. On the other hand, it is presented (perhaps as result of its age) in a very feminine package: delicate, silky, and smooth. It gracefully glides past your palate and keeps you longing for more. Ultimately, this is a beautiful and sensuous wine, but one that has something hiding between its legs when you try to get to know it better. 93-94 points.

  • Taken to Frank's Pisoni OL. It was good, but it did not stand out for me.

  • Dark, seductive aromas of licorice, black cherry, damp hardwood forest floor, a touch of anise and a pleasing buttery edge. The soft, round palate shows cherry, blackberry, cranberry and forest floor funkiness. A long finish, with nice structure. This is a fabulous, complex wine that has matured beautifully.
