  • Burgundy, Rhone, Provence Trip; 9/3/2018-9/15/2018 (Burgundy, Rhone, Provence, France): Pale greenish color. Drank a glass over an hour. There's a long interesting story to this note, but it have to wait til another day. A very intense nose of complex minerals, limestone, sea shell, brine, citrus, lemongrass. The palate is laser-like right now, crisp and coiled with great cut and length. There's a good bit of green fruit here, lime, lemon, pear, tart apple, but right now the overriding character is that sterling minerality reminiscent of a Les Clos Chablis. The power is certainly there and the body seems to build with some wonderful oily texture. Excellent. 94(+)pts.

  • Opens fresher and lighter than Faiveley on the same flight. Same vintage, but this BBM by Vincent Girardin shows more fruits and concentration. Well integrated oak, racy. Very stylish and complete. Showing a real depth of Grand Cru according to Michael and I couldn't agree more.

This wine needs to lie down for couple more years to further develop its creamy texture and nutty character of matured Chardonnay from the best of Puligny-Montrachet.
