More ready and approachable than a bottle six months ago. Awesome integrated matchstick with spice-filled orchard fruit. Great concentration and length.

St. Emilion night (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Quite rounded and fat on the nose, showing a little less acidity and more structure with relatively high alcohol. Feels very much like a bruiser of a wine and also seems to have a bit of age. With air, this tightened up in structure, and showed a little more lean and less diffuse. Overall a fair bit of oak and reduction here. I thought this was older than it was though -- perhaps a 2010?

Meursault (Northside) 1er Cru vs Village, Mostly Blind (The Moll House - Chicago IL): Single blind in flight. Rich and precise with lots of concentration. Good weight, good+ length, I thought this was younger because it still seemed a bit angular on finish, and thought there further upside, but don't often find that true with Boillot at this age. Best now through 2026.

This is drinking really nice right now. Heady classic aroma of hazelnut, unmistakably Meursault. Texturally rich and very satisfying, but the very linear acidity of 2014 shines through. My first Poruzot, and I am now a fan.

buying i) a Henri Boillot, ii) a 2014 white burg, iii) a Meursault 1er... I thought this would be a true winner -- and it only cost me $80... well this wine wasn't what I expected unfortunately and so the 'try to buy' experiment was worthwhile -- won't be buying in quantity... this was a little sweet, had moderate / unsatisfying depth of material, and a small funk element that wasn't pleasant... oh well... for those with bottle in hand I hope this was simply a off bottle

Nicely floral with a fun poached pear character on nose and palate. very good concentration, good depth and length. Excellent value. A bit of new oak that needs another year to integrate, best 2018 forward.

A bit hard and reduced right now. Good richness and weight to the fruit but not generous. Hold.
