  • tasted blind- should have gone with my first instinct when "butter" was among my very first impressions. This has an apricot/dried stone fruit quality to the fruit and continues to blossom as the wine warms up. Lots of golden apple with leesy complexity and a whiff of white chocolate. Creme brulee and "pain grille" notes show through, indicating more development than I would have expected for 2014. Still, lots of fresh minerality underlining everything. Lovely stuff. 93-94.

  • Pale golden color; ripe apple and vanillin nose; pain grille, rich and slightly creamy, mere hints of age. This had Xavier94 guessing every WB neighborhood thinking “he’d never serve a Meursault, he doesn’t like Meursault!” Not true grasshopper, he doesn’t like Meursault that hasn’t integrated the oak (like the Meursault he served me next!). This Drouhin, from a great white burgundy vintage, has aged beautifully. 92+

  • Absolutely stunning performance. Vibrant rich creamy citrus, body is fairly rich and viscous but with an acidity backbone to ‘cut’ through and elevate this wine to new heights. It’s still perceived as a young vivid 14 and perhaps this is more a rich puligny style than meursault bomb. I love it. 2014 meursaults 1er crus are crazy good.

  • Definitely tight and a bit restrained. Took a couple hours to get going. Delicious golden fruit but airy on the palate. A touch of brown sugar. Tons of minerality.
