First bottle tried from this producer. Clearly a more "modern" style with plenty of extraction and little acidity. This was undoubtedly drinking better 5-10 years ago. The Tempranillo character is there but in a slightly "heavy footed" way; surely a reflection of the 2003 vintage. Doesn't have the elegance and balance of a Pesquera but is more like a "Mauro" drink up.

First of six bottles purchased on release. No notes taken, but this showed really well upon first opening and then seemed to fade over the ensuing two hours. After a disastrous '01 the night before, I'm thinking I should drink the rest of these sooner rather than later.

Minneapolis wine club: Ribera del Duero vs. Priorat (Kristen's House): Nice wine overall with spice, leather, cherry, and coffee beans on the nose. The palate shows similar character and the finish is medium. Well made wine and drinking window is less than five years. Decanted one hour.

Medium red. Nice nose of black cherry, smoke, vanilla, and spices. The palate has mellowed a bit since two years ago. Cherry, raspberries, spices, and oak. Medium finish and tannins are still at a medium level. Paired this with lamb and it was perfect.

Drinking very well straight out of bottle but was even better after 1 hour, the nose is full of primary aromas of plums, brambles, blueberries, licorice, minerals and creamy oak. On the palate the wine is voluptious and full-bodied with more plums, blackberries, smokey oak, but no heat or stewed notes. The finish is long without heat. Still primary, but damn nice - I'm expecting more stable/animal aromas to come over the years. Best served at cellar temperature.

Memorial Day weekend party dinner of homemade Texas smoked BBQ brisket. Ruby/purple color. Young and primal, with gobs of jammy blueberry fruit and spice. A wall of tannin on the finish. Medium body. Not a lot of terroir or varietal character at this (infant) stage -- if tasting blind, I would have pegged this as a Central Coast Syrah. Very promising; definitely needs more time.

Winestreet Tastes Spain and California: Ruby red color. Nose shows shows mainly red fruit. In the mouth this has very good fruit and is medium bodied and balanced. I really enjoyed this wine a lot. However, it is very tannic and probably needs a few years in the cellar.

A very nice Ribera wine which should be drank now. In my opinion a little past its prime but still a very nice food wine

A very smooth wine with red fruit. Medium finish and goes well with almost any meat dish.
