Almost tangerine color with a honeyed bouquet and flavor, showing a bit of apricot in the finish. What was intriguing about this wine is how well it had aged. It was still very much alive in 2013, and still had a fairly thick, unctuousness in the mouth. It was very reminiscent of a Sauterne at about the same age, and better than some that I have tasted. In contrast, the 1994 wine in a half-bottle was clearly beyond its prime, a general warning not to keep smaller bottles for the same time as larger.

Beautiful deep golden color .Nose like being in an blossoming orange grove gave me Goosebumps . Very powerful. Not alcohol or too sweet just penetrating deliciousness. Fresh acidic finish. Great foil for stilton and fruit bread.

Beautiful dark amber color. Wonderful citrus nose fading to sweet flowers. First taste upon opening the bottle is a bit sharp and acidic but that quickly fades as the wine warms in the glass. A little too much honey for my taste, as it overwhelms the other flavors and you really have to be patient and let it sit on your palate to find them. Pleasant medium long finish. Recommend serving a bit warmer than normal.

As I suspected, my previous tasting of this wine was a bad bottle. Sweet, honey, apricot and load of citrus. Medium length on the finish. I have always liked the Dolce, but am now convinced that they just don’t age all that well, the fruit seems to die down and your left with an unbalanced sugary wine. Still, as a Thanksgiving day meal finish, it went over very well.

Dark amber in color, this bottle is considerably darker than I would have expected. Tasting suggests premature oxidation. On the nose, you did get intense honeysuckle, apricot and citrus notes. it's thick and viscous in the mouth, but the finish was hard, abrupt and harsh, due to oxidation.

Leeuwin Estate Tasting and Dinner (EL Ideas Chicago, IL): Out of magnum, good fruit, apricot, light on the palate, good sweetness but not a lot. Very good finish.
