It has passed the closed phase and drinks OK now. Classic Pomerol with black fruits, subtle secondary notes (licorice-like), and integrated acidity-based structure. Having said that, I wouldn't call it exciting wine.

Rather tight and lean on the palate!! Nose of nutty, spicy, leathery black fruits, beautiful colour, dark and translucent! Sleeping 💤 ? This is certainly a long life ahead! Decant it or even double-decant it if you need to drink now

Suave et raffiné. Des cerises, des fraises et un peu de cèdre. Les tannins sont fins et assez bien intégrés. Belle finale assez longue ou rien n'accroche. Excellent et pas mal à point je dirais.

Classic Merlot characters of plums and leather seasoned with spice. Soft tannins but still retaining good structure and balance. Plenty more left in the tank. Impressive CHP 93 pts

Medium bodied, 13% alcohol, but with tons of flavor and a very long finish. It presents very young and fresh. Tannins are still very present, but are elegant and give life and length to the wine. Black cherries, chocolate and anise on the palate. It's a fantastic wine with lots of life left.

Textbook Pomerol, just entering its maturity platform. Rich nose with ripe black fruit, mocha, kirsch and classy toast. Velvety on the palate, sexy and very appealing. Well balanced. Every sip invites, almost forces one to empty the bottle, which happened.

Rich, soft, sexy Pomerol with tons of plummy fruit. Nice kiss of integrated oak, with warming spice and a creamy texture. A nice slightly leafy swipe of ripe pepper pyrazines and wet-earth minerals add tension and complexity. Excellent structure that has softened a touch. Really lovely and beat out the 2001 Margaux tonight.

Gave me a lot of depth when compared to vintage 2006, at its early peak! Showing complexity on the nose, sweet-spicy French oak barrique, sweet mineral fruits, subtle and yet delicate texture, the finish is exceptionally long! Quite remarkable!

A relative pulled this bottle from the basement and asked if we could open it. G-man found 4 bottles of this many years ago at his local wine shop for $35 per. Still young but shows the characteristics of a cab franc/merlot blend. Pretty nose of kirsch and dried red fruit. On the palate, there is a roundness that comes from the merlot but with a finish that includes dried herbs. There are still some tannins to be fully integrated. A solid wine that should continue to improve. Decant if planning to open a bottle today.

Brookie and I drank this bottle at dinner with orange duck and mushroom risotto. We drink a lot of Bordeaux, but not much Pomerol, so take that into consideration. We both thought the bottle was very good, and worth the money. The nose is floral and expressive, and probably a little better than the finish. Mid palate was medium, elegant, soft, and a bit understated. No oak, tannins fully integrated. This wine is at it's peak drinking stage. I should mention we did decant the wine for about an hour prior to drinking, and it continued to open over dinner.
Brooke and I had different notes. She got earth, and some black fruit. I noticed the black fruit, but I thought it was mostly an arm wrestling match between mocha and kirsch. There was also a bit of sandalwood.

Fin typisk doft med mörka körsbär, plommon, lakrits, ceder, skogsmark och aningen jordiga toner. Fin balans med lång fin eftersmak. Skulle dock inte gissat på en 2005.

Nearly opaque ruby red, dark fruit, cherry, woodsy, pepper, hint of licorice, medium tannin. Fruit doesn't overpower, bright acid, and smooth tannin. Was hoping for more based on the vintage.

Started to open up after decanting for 90 minutes. Complex nose. Flavors of mocha, earth, dark cherry, chocolate. Medium bodied, dark red in color with a 25-30 second finish. Started to fade after 3 hours in the decanter.

one hour decant...deep translucent ruby hue...very interesting nose of red fruits wrapped in dried meats, cranberry sauce, cedar and mocha...savory/sweet balance reminded me a bit of Thanksgiving, although the complex bouquet dissipated after decant...palate of light and fresh plums and black cherries with silky elegant tannins and well-tamed fresh acidity...medium body with an ethereal feel and med/long finish...not overly complex but very enjoyable (much more so than JPM's sister property Magdelaine)...delicious the second day under vacuum seal

Maybe I caught this on a bad day. Usually one of my favorite Chateau. A nice nose of black cherry, coffee and chocolate. The palate though seemed dry and angular with a shorter tannic finish. I will try this again at some point because this could not have been a correct example.

Slowly beginning to display its charms starting with its black cherry, mocha, floral, earth and plum aromatics. Medium/full bodied with ripe, silky tannins, plush textures and a smooth, cocoa dusted, dark cherry finish. If you like young Bordeaux wine that is on the way up, you can pop a bottle. Else, give it 2-3 more years.

Pretty blend of red colors-a mix of ruby, light crimson and garnet shades, nice to look at. Nose of dark and red fruits with cassis and other nice smells. Rich and textural, balanced and clearly reflective of a great vintage. Beautiful merlot fruit. This wine semms to be good in good vintages and very good in great vintages, but that is only my opinion. The modern style seems to have been of benefit to this property and the wine never seems to be too over-extracted.

Nose of blackcurrants, ash and a bit vegetal. There is a bit of oak and vanilla towards the end and the flavours are cherry and red currants. I'm a bit torn on this wine right now. I would like to give this a try again in another 5 years to see how it has progressed as i feel it may be a touch too young at the moment. Tannins are quite big at the moment but the acidity is nicely balanced.

Appearance: Bright and clear, medium (+) ruby with fading rims and legs Nose: Clean, medium (+) intensity and developing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, plum, liquorice, sandalwood, chocolate, cedar and smoke. Palate: Dry, with medium (+) and lively acidity. Medium tannin showing ripe and velvety texture. Medium alcohol, medium body, with medium intensity flavors of black cherry, blackcurrant, plum, liquorice, sandalwood, toast, cedar and smoke. Medium length. Conclusion: Good quality Pomerol with a fairly intense and complex nose. Relatively weaker on palate though still enjoyable with reasonable intensity and complexity. Good acidity with juicy fruit, the length is reasonable showing good potential. Ready to drink now but can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years.

If you're a fan of other Moueix estates (like Magdelaine) then you'll love this wine. A supremely elegant and pretty Bordeaux that is of medium weight. Despite it's freshness and medium body it packs a fantastic punch of plum, cherry and black currant fruit and a noticeable amount of earthiness. Finishes great. The absence of oak flavors, excessive extraction, and massive tannins is truly refreshing. This wine is for lovers of old school Bordeaux.
Tasted in November 2007, this wine’s 8-hectare terroir includes all kinds of soils – gravel, sand, clay – and exuded a lovely cherry nose, with subtle vanilla. Palate shows very nice tannic structure, fine balance among alcohol (13%), fruit, acidity and tannin.
