Dinner at Tasty Loong: Lovely bouquet of cherries and forest floor, quite clearly a Gevrey. A touch of VA that lent it some elegance that had us thinking if this might be a Rousseau. The person who brought it commented it wasn't as clean as he would have liked, but for a Potel wine I was quite impressed as it didn't show any muddled or muddied fruit.

Drinking beautifully. There are red and black fruits along with some forest floor development. It is relatively plump in the mouth with vinous sweetness and a long, earthy finish.

Unfortunately, my last bottle. This is drinking beautifully tonight with just about an hour of air. Rich red cherry, sous bois, floral undertones and some asian spice notes with good depth and heft but with a decidedly feminine mouth feel. Delicious!!!

This started out quite tight but after double decanting for 4 to 5 hours it opened beautifully. The pretty red fruit, sous bois and earth started out rather delicate but then picked up some muscle and depth while stoll retaining a feminine character. All-in-all, quite nice

Beautifully expressive nose of red fruit, sous bois and earth but the palate was abit disappointing. The flavors in this bottle were quite dilute and unexpressive.

Another winner by Potel, aromatics are somewhat similar to the Vougeot but this is more structured on the palate surprisingly. Lots of depth, great stuff.

Sweet red fruit, some floral notes and sous bois with meaty undertones in a soft, fairly delicate framework with a nice, med finish. Quite an excellent bottle of wine, but I still think it's lacking abit of depth and complexity for a grand cru burgundy.

On opening the nose was bursting with bright red cherry, after several hours this settled down to be a soft, feminine wine with pretty red fruit and green, damp underbrush in a med bodied framework. There's abit of oak present, but its not at all intrusive. This is an excellent, delicate red burgundy that I think is just abit lacking for a grand cru, but would make a really nice 1er cru. Its drinking very well today.

Quite a meaty nose with sous-bois and dark red fruits. Lovely stuff and showing better than last night's 99 Drouhin Bonnes Mares. Proper Burgundy. ****

Mid to full ruby. A gamey, meaty nose with some spice. Quite rich and oaky on the attack though this is not at all overdone and should intergrate in a little while. Velvety feel, fine dark red to black fruit. Lovely poise, really showing its cru class. Long finish. Really very good indeed. ****1/2

Incredible deep nose and palate with a peacocks tail.

for many people, this was the wine of the day. For others, getting too old.
