The T.J.'s "Wine Guy" was emphatically pointing out to the gaggle of customers that this was not one of those fake pink wines but a "real" rose. The onset of summer has heralded an onslaught of Rose in the marketplace. Despite my skepticism about this being from a large producer, this one represents a good value. A paler salmon pink than many, primary flavour is strawberry with a balancing acidity. Slight unctuousness provides some body. It compared very favourably with other higher priced Roses we had tried recently.

Flamingo coloured core leads out to a lighter salmon coloured rim with a slight orangy hue. On the nose the wine shows bright ripe cherry, raspberry and fresh strawberrys. It has a light minerality and shows a wonderful beeswax note. The plate is dry with med acid, light fruit intensity of summer berries and plasticine its somewhat muted but shows the minerality again on the medium-short finish. Not overly complex. moderate alcohol. medium bodied. A decent summer sipper but nothing out of the ordinary. My sister really liked it but i think thats just cause it was pink..... Drink now - next year

Reasonably good rosé. I am not experienced with this AOC. An interesting blend of grapes. Not especially memorable flavour. Cost $8. Rhone Valley Vineyards. 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache, 10% Syrah.
Per www.lavieilleferme.com: Vineyard is east of southern tip of Côtes du Rhône appellation, near Vielles-sur-Auzon, at the foot of the Mont-Ventoux, and the hills that extend to Sault. Geology: Sediment left by the seas of the Tertiary period at the base of the chalky Mont Ventoux. Red Mediterranean soils blend with chalk debris and round stones. Grapes are hand-picked, lightly crushed and put in stainless steel vats. Skin contact for 24 hours. Fermentation of the free-run juice in stainless steel at 70 degrees F. Maturation entirely in stainless steel; fined with bentonite. Deep pink hue. Floral nose with a touch of aniseed and brown sugar. Palate: Very rich, balanced, caramel, toffee. Serve at 50 to 54 degrees F in a tulip-shaped glass.

Reliable summer quaffer, as always. Nice fresh acidity, fairly dry, with strawberry fruit flavors and just a bit of slate on the finish. Nothing complex, but what a great drink for the price on a hot summer day.

Pretty nice bottle for the price, fresh strawberries on the nose and in the taste. Not complex, but had some decent acidity.

Very dry, I guess I was expecting something a little sweeter but it was good.

Very dry and light; nice fruit. When served with cheese, it opens up and becomes more vibrant.

Nice summer drinker, but nothing special. Probably wouldn't buy again even though it's so cheap.

Nice looking wine, colour of summer, strawberry on the nose, which followed thru in taste, dry finish, which is great for the summer.
