4th Saturday Group brown bagger (M/M thelostverse): Dark color with aromas of beef bouillon cube and raisins. Sour dark fruit on the palate with more bouillon qualities. This is vile stuff. I was fairly certain it was our Vinculo.

Notes of plum, vanilla, boysenberry, red fruit, grapey dark fruit and a subtle earthy funk. Tannins are integrating, but still make their presence known. Vanilla, plum, boysenberry and dark fruit flavors. Medium finish.

This wine is clear of medium tawny colour with a wide rim. The nose is flawed, it's clearly oxidized and fully developed with medium+ intensity aromas of mushrooms, varnish, toffee, coffee, nuts and hints of red cherries in the background. It's dry in the mouth with a medium balanced acidity, medium- tannins, medium alcohol, medium- body and medium- intensity flavours of mushrooms, toffee, coffee, nuts, varnish and faint notes of red fruit. Short finish. This wine may have been interesting at some time, but today is clearly dead and past it's best. It would not be fair to rate it.

Dark cranberry color. Cloudy. Nose a combination of sweet red berries and forest floor and wet leaves. Palate still quite tannic. Full rich mouthfeel. Opened up in the glass over a few hours. Mostly earthy and woody palate. Not much fruit.

The Blind Drunks monthly tasting (Chateau Lay): Deep crimson color. Notes of red and black fruit, with a nice spice & herb undertone. Deeply fruited, rich and hedonistic on the palate. Nice balance from the attack through the finish.

Much better than previous CT reviews. Big Tempranillo. Lots of tannin & wood, but a good amount of fruit and erth as well. Definitely as expected from Fernandez. Very good price for a lot of wine.

Decanted for over an hour before drinking. Poured a little cloudy, but soon settled into nice dark red typical of Tempranillo. Good fruit on the nose. Crianza oak is definitely present. Big soft ripe dark fruit with vanilla and a touch of mocha on the finish.
