On Day 1 this was just OK but on Day 2 it had opened up and was meaningfully different/better. Of course will not be confused with Burgundy but regardless really bright red fruit flavors with nice acidity and length. QPR is stretched but regardless I will look back fondly on this one after the second showing.

Nothing wrong with the wine but nothing too special either. A few notches below what I recalled from an earlier bottle. I got this one recently through a 3rd party so provenance could play a factor. Or it's age. Drink up.

Light red in color. 14.5% ABV. Charming nose of bright red fruits, cloves, cola and baking spices. Light to medium body with exquisite acidity. Exceptionally elegant but not lacking for power. Cherry, cranberry, pomegranate and earth on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Just a great Estate Pinot Noir from Rochioli that undoubtedly bodes incredibly well for the Single Vineyard Pinots. Best over the next 1-2 years.

Crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Pretty nose of dark red fruits, cloves, forest floor and minerals. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Great structure, fruit forward and perfectly balanced. Black cherry, cranberry, baking spices and cola on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Gorgeous Pinot Noir that has me sorely tempted to open a '14 Rochioli vineyard designate. Best over the next 2-3 years.

Clear scarlet ruby Bright cherry cola fruit with a boost of tannin in the finish. This is really quite open, sweet, and enjoyable right now if you like the style. 14.5% I imagine this is in a sweet spot right now. Lots of unopened bottles in CT today...

A beautiful and expressive PN. More classic than new world this wine evokes cherry, black fruits, and sulphuric flavor in mouth. The lingering flavors include black cherry, some cranberry, a small amount of bell pepper and cherry.
Overall an awesome and well produced mid priced Pinot.

Typically one of my favorite producers. However, their growth in the market seems to be taking a tol on their “standard” Pinot. There was VA (nail polish aroma) that detracted from nose. Overall the style seemed more heavy handed than in the past. It’s still good, just harder to justify at that price.

Nice medium translucent ruby. Nose has sandalwood, cedar, and bright red fruit. Palate follows with deep red cherry and ripe raspberry fruit, cola, with lean, integrated sweet oak tannins and strong note of vanilla. This would be good to place in a blind tasting as representative of modern RRV Pinot. I wouldn’t call it high octane in terms of alcohol or viscosity but it does finish sweet.

Very typically RRV Pinot Noir with ultra ripe red and black cherry with sweet spice and vanilla cola. Well made in its style, even though this sweet, high octane wine isn't my preferred style of Pinot Noir.

Very tight and seemingly disjointed initially; nevertheless, it started opening up after 20 minutes and was drinking really well 50 minutes in. It turned out to be the ripest, fullest-bodied Rochioli I've had to date. While there isn't much finesse here, the fruit quality is outstanding (perhaps what some would qualify as "Californian"). 14.5% ABV.

Decanted for about 2 hours before consumption. I few days ago I had a 2013 River Block, which was the best bottle of wine I've had in about a year. This wine presented similar elements to the River Block on the nose, including plum and cherry, with a touch of cola and some spice notes. I got a touch of oak; not a ton of acidity. Finish is nice, but it lacks the candied cherry that I got from the River Block. Terrific bottle nonetheless.

This bottle has a very small amount of effevesence, which didn't distract from my enjoyment of it, but was surprising. On the positive side, a big nose, rich with dark spices. Medium to full bodied, and silky. Juicy cherry and ripe plum on the palate. The color is very pretty as well. Balanced acidity and smooth tannins. I eat lemon herb salmon once a week and always pair it with a pinot - it's hard to get that wrong, mind you, but this one is no exception to the pairing as it works really really well with the fish. The wine is really delicious but you have to enjoy big ripe fruit new world pinot. 93 pts and I mean it.

PnP. Brilliant medium red. Spicy red fruits on the nose. On the palate classic cherry, raspberry, strawberry. Lovely balance to this - not overly extracted as some of the Rochioli SVDs can seem. Could keep but drinking very well now.

What a difference a year in the bottle made. While still very fruit forward, the acidity of this bottle was a little more tame and the fruit isn't so in your face.
Opened the bottle about 25 minutes before pouring and then let the first pour set in the glass for another 10 or 15 minutes.
Lots of black and red fruit on the nose with a very slight herbaceous undertone that definitely added to the complexity. Evolved over the next hour or two becoming much more settled and complex.
On the palate, initial fruit was intense with cherry and strawberry dominating. The acidity definitely helps tame the fruit and this wine became more complex and interesting as the night wore on. Definitely a heavier style of pinot noir even for a california wine that pairs with richer food than the average pinot noir. Definitely a winner, looking forward to trying a bottle a year for the next ten years.
