Almost cloudy ruby red with lighter rim; some funk and hinting at mushroom, dusty iron atop high toned cherry and cranberry almost entering some orange, hinting at some SLB spice; a sweet entry and a crisp tart finish suggests this could still use more time but plenty of enjoyment now, slightly rounded; tasty.

Earthy, slightly funky nose, some nice, dark, meaty fruit, bit rustic from its stems, but tasty with plenty of interest. Fairly structured, young, should be quite nice in 5-10 years.

Deep ruby red. Aromas of sweet red cherry overlay a subtle layer of damp earth. Distinctive mushroom on the mid-palate. Structured, tannic, and slightly rustic.

Dark ruby (especially for a Bourgogne), subtlety fragrant nose of dried cherry, violet, camphor with hints of mocha and iron, sweet and pungent on the attack with simple red fruit, earth and mineral notes, finish is medium length with strawberry, pomegranate and chalky (maybe even slightly drying) tannins

Tuesday Night Double Blind <$40 (Alpharetta, GA): Maroon to rim; youthful nose, floral, sweet red and darker cherry, slight spice, fresh and focused; tasty, simpler on the palate, cranberry, dark cherry, cherry pit, slight clove; popular tonight, would like to cellar some of this.

Wine was much more accessible than previous tasting in February, softer fruit and texture with great perfume though still very serious, agree that more cellaring will reward greatly but if the wine has softened this much in 6 months then a couple years should prove brilliantly.

DIVA Burgundy Tasting (Maison Champy - Beaune): Tasting, brief note. Reduced start. Bright red fruit underneath with minerally, well textured middle-to-finish. Seems like it will be good or better for its level.

This is very serious for Bourgogne level, dark earth, iron ore, powerful, dark cherry, slight clove, sweet fruit but not candied; seriously good, would like to lay some down for a few years as it is very tense today.

This improves with time. Much, much nicer than last year. Better nose, more fruit, softer and more complete. Like it.

I bet I can scientifically prove this tastes better at $21.99 than $31.99.

Stony, mineral nose with dark sour berries. Dry, cherry dominated flavor. Nice.
