Light gold in color. Nose of lemon, steel, pear, and a bit of lemongrass. Second nose of minerality and Thai basil. Smooth with very slight tartness thought the palate. Flavor of lemondrop with both the sweetness and tartness.

Gold in color. Nose of melon, honeysuckle, lemon, cut grass, and steel. Second nose is more of the same and pear. Nice medley of those flavors through the plate. Slightly crisp and refreshing.

Lots of straw and wiffs of grass and fresh cut melon on the nose, the color is a citrus white, this wine is super polished, clean and direct, hints of melon some honey and back end delivery of the straw and lemongrass add some structure.
Fantastic with sautéed Chilean sea bass, pumpkin sage gnocchi, and broccolini with harissa oil. Enjoy

I have been drinking this wine every month this year and it continues to seduce me. The color has evolved from almost clear to a remarkably clear golden tint. The citrus and zest on the nose are as crisp and fresh as I imagine the dew on the skin of the fruit itself in the morning in the vineyard. The finish is inspiring and makes the bottle go fast.
I think this wine will continue to please all who try it over the next 5-8 years.

The Winemaker's Dinner: Quintessa (21 Club - NYC): Nice Napa SB from a concrete egg. Getting better at recognizing this style. Creamed honey and some lime along with the hints of grassiness. Very full bodied. Low acidity. Perhaps some floral notes as well. It's enjoyable.

Nicely balanced flavors, between a bright, zippy SB and some lightly vanilla-laden oak in the finish. A beautiful wine that drinks more like a meal in and of itself.

An energetic and tart Sauvignon Blanc blend that offers tightly-wound citrus flavors but is a bit too acidic for my taste. Light yellow, almost white in color; medium in body; nose of green apple and salt water. Tastes of grapefruit, lemon peel, gooseberry, and flint, with a tight, almost bitter finish. Blend of 48% Sauvignon Blanc, 39% Sauvignon Blanc Musque, and 13% Semillon. 14.2% alcohol.
I'm a bit surprised that this is listed at $50 from the winery - a ridiculous price when other CA SB's in this lean style (e.g., Massican, Spottswoode, Blackbird) offer similar energy with far more grace and openness (at almost half the price). Wait another year or so to drink.

Petrol-laden SB without obvious oak influence that is oh-so-seductive with its acidity. It doesn't have quite the crackling energy of Massican, but comes pretty close.

Just released. Very punchy aromatically, has some semillon in the blend. This was designed to just be at QUintessa. But for wine dinners they planted .5 acre of SB. Teh Semillion (12%) comes from friends in the Sonoma. They are using neutral oak and concrete eggs to make this thing. Nice balanced complexity is the idea. And at $50 retail its way over.

Clear pale yellow with medium intensity. Beautiful aroma, fresh peaches, apricot, light citrus, and clean wet grass. Very lively a slight creamy note develops. Lots of stone fruit and bright moderate acidity (7/10). Medium body with a smooth texture. Excellent structure and love the complexity. Keeps adding deeper white and tropical fruit notes as it opens up. White floral notes too like acacia on the nose. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2026.
