Strawberry, baking spice and vanilla on the nose, palate is boysenberry jam. Long sweet finish, fairly straightforward but that's what makes it good. Very enjoyable.

Another bottle of good Aussie Shiraz. Great QPR. Blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, pepper, smoke with some bitterness. Almost full bodied, not very complex but enjoyable. 90~91/100

Getting even better. The soft palate still has all the fruits, spice, and complexity noted earlier. It opens nicely over a couple of hours and is good on its own and/or with food. For me, it has much of the Penfolds Shiraz character but at a bargain price, relatively speaking. Lovely wine.

Deep colour with no signs if ageing. More vanilla on the nose than the last bottle (reminiscent of a 'Penfold's Shiraz nose), together with bramble fruits and even a trace of strawberry. The soft palate has all the fruits, spice, and complexity noted earlier. Dark cherries developed later. Some dusty tannins on the late palate without food but superbly integrated with food. Plenty of life ahead. After a couple of hours, the wine really came together and gave great pleasure. Superb wine, especially at the price. Note. There seem to be two categories on cellartracker for the same wine. One shown as Clare Valley and one as SE Australia. Both are strictly correct but the label says Clare Valley. Same wine, I think......

Brambly nose with notes of leather, black pepper, and blackberries. Tight, focused palate with dusty tannins. Medium body. I'm getting a sour note, brett perhaps?
D2: fruit is all but gone. Tannins showing through stronger than before. Licorice.

Opened 5h before drinking. Deep colour. Excellent fruit, spice, and vanilla on the fragrant nose. I got redcurrants morphing into blackcurrants on the palate with deep dark red fruits including cherries and plums. Prominent spice and pepper developing as before. Big and complex with vanilla, good acidity, and soft but structured tannins. Long. Excellent with rare sirloin and equally good with soft blue cheese but superb on its own, later. Cherries were more prominent a couple of hours later with maraschino developing when drawing air through the wine. Great value and it has years ahead IMO.

Second bottle. Still good. Medium plus bodied, going to full with time, plus some sweetness. Blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, dark chocolate, coffee, pepper, menthol. Best enjoyed next day after half an hour's bottle breathing. Next day it's got more integrated and became something like a nice Rhone Syrah. Ended in 92/100.

14.5% Deep garnet, medium + bodied. Initial nose shows dark fruits, barnyard, but soon red fruits like raspberry, burnt orange peel, spices and some sweetness emerge. Overall still dry. Pretty tannic at first, but softens, gets richer in 2 days. Finishes with menthol. Needs some breathing or best enjoyed on the 3rd day. Nice and savory acidity.

Deep colour. Excellent fruit on the fragrant nose with a little gentle vanilla later. Rich dark red fruits on the palate with plums, spice and pepper. Complex, soft, and almost sweet fruit later but always with a soft, 'round' tannic backbone. This is a so-called entry-level Shiraz blended from fruit from all the Kilikanoon Clare sites but what a wine for the money! Tasted at Grand Union Wine Society with Claire Scott-Gall of Mentzendorff UK.

Australia Tasting (One Market, SF): Rather over-oaked. A bit of reductive black fruit and pepper, but the sweet cinnamon-nutmeg oak is more prominent for me. Full bodied, high alcohol, slightly elevated acid, diminished tannins.

Saturated, opaque, red violet color; tart black pepper, roasted black fruit nose; silky textured, tart black pepper, roasted black fruit palate; medium-plus finish

Slightly bitter aftertaste, likely from lack of oak integration, tastes very young. Aussie shiraz in style, fruit driven, dark, high alcohol. May improve, but enjoyable everyday bottle

- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, raspberry and burnt toast. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of tobacco with a medium/full body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish.

All of the Kilikanoon wines I have tried have been consistently good with an outstanding QPR. This bottle tasted of warm black raspberries with the tannins and alcohol (14.5%) well hidden. Would like to keep at least one bottle for a few years to see how it will age.

As my earlier notes. Still developing - the generous (cherry, damson) fruit seems 'sweeter' but the structure and spice remain. A lovely bottle.

Not much fruit. A dry SA Shiraz. There's a hint of dark chocolate. Wife tastes some dark berries. She's usually right so I'll go with that.
