  • From 75cl, perfect cork, decanted 30 minutes, continued to improve until final drop. Less forward than a 2015 CdJ Rochegres opened recently, less iron, less exuberence, less up-front juicy dark red fruit. But this has its own plush, polished, reticent charm, almost like a hyper-refined St. Joseph from a very ripe year, but with a much shorter finish. May yet have secrets to reveal. Next bottle in 2016?

  • From 75cl, perfect cork, decanted 2 hours, improved until final drop. This magnificent bottle was broadly in line with my TN of 09.01.2023, but lifted by a superb cranberry-fruited mid-palate vivacity, and more resolved tannins. Beautiful silken texture; long finish. Opened by mistake (I thought it was the CdJ MàV Rochegres of the same vintage) – but what a beautiful surprise it was. 93P

  • From 75cl, perfect cork, decanted off substantial powdery sediment 1 hour, improved one further hour in the glass. Expansive perfume, dark juicy red fruit—bordering on logan-/blackberry—with expressive herbal high notes (bay-leaf, rosemary, thyme, just possibly pine-forest) and a hefty iron edge, which persists through to the finish. Broad entry, all in all a big, expressive wine; the mid-palate tannins are still a bit hefty/furry, but in a healthy and appetizing way. Delicious now and for quite some time to come. 91–92P

Grippy nice fruit with mineral notes. Impressive.

  • Fantastic fruit tannin structure with lots of freshness and ripe fruit. This isn’t a pop and pour quaffer. No banana esters from carbonic, this is classy raspberry, cranberry and mineral juice which from mag needs 20-30 mins in a glass to open, and declines after 2hrs. Drink now to 2027. Had with spicy pizza - matches head and acidity well. Would be just as good with duck, pork belly or other fatty meats.

  • Marvelous tannin and grip. Rich dark fruit and umami characteristics. Insanely easy to drink but very satisfying. Absurdly strong value for the price.

This is why i hoard and covet Cru Beaujolais.

  • I guess its on clay so its never jammy or heavy. That's pretty built up and powerful.

  • From a 1.5. Deep, dark, purple, opaque in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of red cherries, fresh strawberries & cranberries with overtones of floral note of violets & earthy/dusty notes, spices, minerals, herbs & hints of vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, plush, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, pomegranates & strawberries with some citrus notes, spices, earthy, herbs, cocoa, minerals & a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit & structure for continued development with an additional aging.
