Medium golden yellow in color. Forward, attractive & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, lemons/limes & some pear with lovely floral overtones of honeysuckle & butterscotch, minerals, stony, a hint of toasty oak & vanilla. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, youthful, ripe fruit flavors of yellow peaches, green apples & citrus notes of lemons/limes with butterscotch, minerals & a slight touch of toasty oak & vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & even at 5 years of age, it should continue to develop further with an additional aging.

PnP. Light greenish gold. Restrained nose. Elegant and rather light on the palate with good acidity and stone fruit flavors and perhaps a touch too much oak on the finish. Not as intense as earlier vintages to my recollection.

Today, with my last bottle of this wine, I found it a little bit too heavy on the oak to really enjoy fully. I see I liked it more in my lass tasting note. Overall not sure I’d but this again as are so many out there at around this level.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color straw / light gold. Nose is mostly baked apple tart w cinnamon and citrus. Swishing this shows cheek coating acidity and a mineral laden just tannic finish. Sipping this shows significant fruit density that balances the structure which comes across now as more minerality. Nice persistent finish and a wonderful accompaniment to hunter style chicken tonight. May age but why wait? Delicious now.

The Oregon Coast. Blue sky, cold water. A pear and a bottle of Talley 2014 Rincon Chardonnay. This is everything I imagined retirement to be. The wine is delightful. Fresh apples and honeysuckle. Gentle flavors of oak that don't intrude. I spent three hours walking on the beach with my wife. My lungs are filled with salty air, my hair with sand. The pear was a nice touch. Chardonnay the world over is a great wine and the Arroyo Grande AVA in California has superb growing conditions for this grape and Talley did a nice job in making the wine. I'm on my second glass now, so this is no longer a mere wine tasting. I'm drinking this wine. I don't have to spar with tannins. No jokes about butter. Chardonnay. Nicely done.

This is one stern wine, but the nose is good, the mouth is good and the length is really good.
Perhaps let’s wait until 2023 and then try again.

Very nice wine. More on the mineral side than the oaky buttery side. Great freshness and purity. Enjoyed it
