Nose: blackcurrant, blackberries, cherry as well. Definitely smelled the minerality as well, along with leather and tobacco
Palate: full body and high tannins. Very earthy with background notes of blackberry and black fruits. There is also a savory, umami component towards finish, like soy sauce.

Red/dark fruit, coffee beans, floral notes, spices on the nose. Quite open and approachable, good concentration of fruit, fresh, well integrated tannins. Well made, but quite linear. 87-89

Tobacco, cigar wrapper, wet earth and red fruits lead off the wine. On the palate, the wine is soft, medium bodied, forward and finishes with smoky fruit and a hint of dust in the tannins. You can drink this elegant wine young or age it.

Ripe, earthy plums and red cherries add an interesting dimension to the tobacco character found in this softly textured, early drinking wine. 87 - 89 Pts

Ohne Kommentar, da einfach so nebenbei getrunken. Gefällt mir aber sehr gut. Braucht Luft - aber wenn er am Start ist, dann "Guet Nacht am Sächsi".

Graves and Pessac Leognan from bottle: 2015 vintage (UGCB tastings in New York and Washington DC): A disappointing showing from this estate, which usually performs better. Just comes across more hefty than elegant. Will try again in the near future to re-evaluate.

Feeling Pessac-Léognan pizzaz, appreciating dry extract #bdx15: whites and reds (Bordeaux, actually tasted during en primeur week): I sense some oak derivation on the nose and in the palate. It is not flagrant, but perhaps detracts a bit from a sense of fruit purity. Otherwise, it is medium bodied and smooth with a medium finish. Let’s see what happens in barrel. 87-89
