drinking nicely enough, if a bit more subdued on the palate and lacking the energy of a bottle a year and a half ago. If this bottle is representative, I don't see it getting better, nor is it anywhere near falling apart.

Medium ruby, barely hinting towards purple. Aromas of farmyard funk, mushrooms, earth, tobacco, cherry, pomegranate, lemon, and orange. Medium body, medium (+) acid and finish, with flavors of cherry, pomegranate, lemon, and minerals. Solid, nice pinot, in spite of the silly name.

Medium ruby in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & blueberries with overtones of earthy/dusty & spice notes, minerals & a slight touch of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, strawberries & blueberries with spices, minerals & a touch of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & appears to be close to or at its peak of development.

What a difference a different bottle (or half a year) make. This bottle, while restrained, did not lack for flavor with an expressive nose lingering if subtle finish. It continued to open up for a few hours while open.

Quick note: Lovely light hues, red fruits on the nose, and a slow-opening cascade of flavors. Good balance, with emphasis on acidity at first, fruits opening up later. Restrained, but definitely a charmer.

Nice enough wine. It seemed a bit shy, and took some coaxing to get fairly subtle flavors come to the fore. It may be in something of a dumb phase. Or not. Purchased recently from a flash sale sight, I wonder what this wine's storage has been like.

Dark red fruit: raspberry, red currant. Hints of juniper, mint, green tobacco leaf. Leans relatively more toward those green notes vs fruit after a couple hours of air; I should’ve decanted. Fairly concentrated, M acid, M- tannin, M to M+ body.
This is decent to good now, I’d like it better with less dark fruit intensity and more tertiary character and aroma so maybe in another 3-5 years when I open my other bottle this will be something more memorable. I paid $25 from Wine Text and it’s easily worth that...at $50-60 retail you can do better, at least for my taste. ~6-6.5/10

A majority of the grapes are from the Pommard clone. Intense and rather herbal nose with some ripe berries where cherries dominate but also slight notes of smoke. The palate has nice juicy fruit and some licorice notes combined with a good but rather careful acidity.

Very enjoyable. Not as lean as the 2014 Cuvee E
