  • Blinded. Pale-red, with bricking at the rims. Dried leaves, cherries, tea on the nose. Palate felt (overly) soft, with not much fruit/weight. Seemed like the acid will outlast the fruit. Overall still a nice wine to drink (now), but I wouldn't keep this for long...

  • Opened for a tasting - perfect storage. Decanted and drank over two hours. Presented as rather thin and clear; pale ruby with some browning and gold flashes. Nose had some initially promising savory funk with very muted fruit and licorice. Overall, the nose never really developed over the course of the evening.
Drank ok - got relatively more interesting with food and with time, but never became anything memorable. Muted fruit - hints of some citrus peel. Disappointing bottle.

There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is light. The wine has linear texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity.

  • What a bouquet, we nosed this beauty for 20 min before first sip & fully justified, kaleidoscope of red fruit spectrum, wild strawberries, cherries, roses, tea leaves, char, evolving constantly, ultra fine tannins with zen like balance, elegant style, we all loved it

  • Burg lunch at Summer Pavilion. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, ruby colour with translucent rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of fragrant thin earth, red cherries, red spice, fragrant herbs. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lovely red cherries, red spice, sweet herbs, thin earth, stony minerality, hints of tea leaf. Long finish.
Very good quality. Has a nose I like, and superb elegance mouth-feel. Lacks the power and body of what you expect Clos de la Roche to be, but that's just the domaine style.

  • CNY wine session, very light color, fantastic nose, barnyard & cherries, grand cru level, feminine style, drinking very well, most people’s WoTN with the 99 Lamarche Clos Vougeot

  • Bottle breathe for 2 hours before serving. Nose with perfume and hint of tea, the palate is smooth, with some fruit but the tannin is quite integrated. Medium finishing. Quite mature and ready to drink.
