  • Dark maroon red color. PNP, drank several glasses over 6 hours. A little odd bottle stank initially on the nose that blows off over 10 minutes or so. Savory nose with dried flowers, slate, leather, pencil, and dried cherries. This opens further over the next hour and shows some brighter wild strawberry notes on the nose and palate. The palate itself is more rustic, leather, pencil, savory, dried cherry, strawberry, some black raspberry. The tannins are pleasant, fairly round and they will creep up you in the finish. I don't have a sense this going to get better with time, but it should hold here for the short term. 91+ to 92pts.

  • October Wine Dinner in DC (Eric's House in DC): Needed 3+hrs double decanted to finally brighten up and open. Browing, slight VA/acetone on nose overlying earth, truffle and red fruit. On Palate was mostly tertiary, just a whisper of red fruits, earth, sage, leather. Medium/light body, strong acidity, moderate tannins. nice.
