A very pleasant surprise for a village level wine Very pale yellow. Lime and floral notes. Great mid palate, elegant and long. This performs beyond its pedigree. Still has years left but why wait. It does not need to get better.

Dobbeltdekantert på dagen og servert tidlig kveld. Masse hvit frukt her; hvit fersken, blomster og sitrus. Mineralsk og kjølig samt syrlig! Bare midtpartiet avslører at dette ikke er 1cru. Meget bra village. (91+)

For hardcore syreelskere.

Roumier Bonnes Mares vertical (67 Pall Mall London): Great way to kick off a beautiful evening. Lovely village Puligny - 2014 is just such a great vintage and this was a rockstar of a village wine. 12% alcohol. Balanced, racy, nice melt and fruit. Impressive.

Very pale gold....Pinot Grigio like in color... Nose has smoke, sea air, light fruit... Flavor is lime zest, lemon, floral, bracing acidity.... To me, more top shelf Chablis than puligny...very good drinker... Bit of tartness on finish...

Very floral and rich start with plenty of ripe orchard fruit. Impressive density and power for its level. Excellent Villages. Drinking better now vs 2 years ago, and this should easily drink well through 2025+.

The style of Benoit Ente in recent vintages are indistinguishable from his brother Arnaud Ente’s wines. This 2014 Puligny Montrachet has an immaculate profile of zingy fresh tree and citrus fruits with smart reduction like Domaine Arnaud Ente. Pure white peach, focused acidity, Chablis like crystalline flavours. Benoit Ente is now one of the best winemakers along with Arnaud Ente and Leflaive. Brilliant Puligny village with years of life ahead. (90/100)

Lys sitrongul. Stilfull Puligny med røyk, stein og krutt. Kjølig hvit frukt og spenstig sitrus. Raspet, rent sitrusskall. Eiken merkes ikke her. Ren og pen frukt, men vinen fremstår først og fremst mineralsk. Kjølig og syrlig i munn. Skikkelig nerve. Vibrerende syre. Slank med ren frukt. Perfekt sitron og sitronskall. Virkelig god lengde. Fabelaktig village som overrasker stort.

Pnp. Nose is reductive with matchstick, sulphur, minerals and stone fruit. Palate has lots of salty minerals. Its like licking a rock. The fruit is slightly ripe with lots of acidity to support. Good for its level.

The reductive nose has some flint, matchstick, sulphur and lemon zest, which is very charming. Palate has lots of acidity and minerality but a bit lean. The nose is better than the palate. Good for its level.

Beautiful wine for a village, nose is awesome, classic, pure, powerful, tasting is softer, with a little astringency at the end (little reduction?) Still very good bottle, very enjoyable

First time with this wine from Ente. A bit disjointed and very primary at this stage but good material there--energetic, zippy, fresh, lemon citrus. A touch too much sulfur on nose at the start. Would give about a year or two for it to settle down and then enjoy as I don't see this needing long development. Will seek more of his wines.

Nice young Burgundy, not complicated but well balanced. For me typical terroir and grape variety. some decent nuts in the finish. 90-91

Good fruits, mineral and acidity. But need some more time to develop and integrate.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Ripe apple aromas with floral hints. Ripe and rich flavors with very good balance and textural charm. Excellent for its level. Consistent with when tasted last month.
