I think the merlot is letting it down. A straight Cabernet would be hitting its straps by now. The fruit is disappearing and you are left with fine white pepper tannins. Good but not great.

Very similar to last time. The fruit remains quite fresh and the acidity has some bite. I am going to leave the next bottle for a couple of years to see if it mellows more. Very nice though.

Big cassis nose. A fruity palate with plenty of dark fruits - blackberries, currants, plums. The tannins are still grippy, and there is also an undertone of subtle oak. Long finish. Acidity is noticeable but not bad.

Mint, eucalyptus, blackberry, plum, mocha and cloves on the palate. Nicely restrained, though perhaps the acidity is a little too prominent. My impression was that this was still a little young. Was enjoyed by everyone though.

Deep red to purple in colour there is pronounced cassis on the nose, the palate has well defined dark fruits, with rich plum and blackberry the most prominent, there is cedar and fine but firm tannins towards the back palate and the finish shows a hint of eucalyptus and considerable length. This is a wine to put in the cellar for a number of years, but is enjoyable now
Coonawarra Roadshow (The Menzies hotel): Nose: bramble and dark berry fruit, cedar and touches of pencil shavings Mouth: quite austere - not as much fruit as I was expecting - some tanning and spice.

Quite mellow and not memorable. Had it as a much cheaper wine so maybe it is time to drink them up
