Bouquet of cinnamon, clove, spice, vanilla, dark cherry, similar flavors plus medium oak, fine dry tannins, with a long smooth finish. Aging has done fantastic things to this cabernet. Nothing harsh. Pleasant on its own. Tasting with brisket.

First of the blind red wines this evening. Medium to deep garnet red with some bricking on the edges. Aged nose with some tomato leaves, bark spices, cinnamon and cedar. Touch of dark berries. Medium and rounded tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Sweet spices on the palate with plums, forest floor, truffles, and a touch of bitter dark cocoa in the medium plus finish. Drink till 2020.

Garnet red. Some light sediment. Dark chocolate and soft dark fruits like mulberries and plums on the nose and palate. Seems a little harsh on the palate now. Drink now.

Dark garnet red with some browning on the edges. Nose had a lot of green and vegetal notes with a slight undertone of cinnamon. Calm and integrated dark fruit on the palate. Undertones were a little savory with some grilled herbs. Furry on the tongue with a slight grittiness. Moderate tannins (6/10) and well integrated with a moderate body. Moderate plus finish. Drink till 2018.

Hint of dirty cellar in the nose with tobacco and light cassis. Definitely a refined gentleman here. I would probably not leave too much longer (and I have a case to go)
Moderate integrated tannins, smooth body with light fruity cassis. Drink up.

What a great bottle of vino. When I first had this wine in late 2007 it was in your face tannin, fruit and acidity... I love that shit! it was apparent that it had great potential to age well for a number of years and it certainly has. I last had this bottle in 2010 and it was still strong in all priority elements and drank quite well. Here in 2014 I continue to be impressed by the overall balance of this wine. My initial drink was poured directly from the bottle and the wine displayed nice dark cherry and ripe plum flavors with medium tannin and and decent acidity remaining, and the nose presented vanilla and dark chocolate notes. I then poured it thru a Vinturi Wine Aerator and found that it lost much of it's fruit profile and became unbalanced as a result. Regardless, I drank this wine with an awesome USDA prime cut strip steak and terrific scallop potatoes and it was a fantastic compliment! I am admittedly a huge fan of Agustin Huneeus and his wines, and that appreciation is only strengthened by this particular vino & vintage. If you can find the vintage I certainly recommend it as it is now a silky tasty treat, but I expect it won’t remain this well balanced beyond another year or so. I look forward to testing the theory! :-)

This is going to have to be a re-do, I have mixed feeling about it, I loved the juice but had difficulty getting past the nose. I don't know if it was just this bottle or if it's a typical characteristic of this wine, whatever the case I still have eight bottles to figure it out. The color was a wonderful clear burgundy, the nose hit me with wet wood, musty sawdust or the inside of an old wet oak barrel, this effected the taste some but I could still enjoy the delightful complex flavors of ripe red berries. Hotter then I expected and the tannins are still vibrant

Pop and pour, allowed to sit in the bottle for an hour after opening. Some green notes an hour after opening, which blew off after another 20+ mins. Oak and dark fruit on the nose, both continue mid-palate. Tanins still strike me as atypically sweet for a Calicab in an off year, but an enjoyable wine and solid qpr nonetheless.

Nice wine, consumed over two days. Tanins were unusually sweet, very easily enjoyed with a desert and even showing some similarities to merlot. Not a deep wine but nicely balanced, very approachable and enjoyable. Held up well on day 2 (gassed overnight). Should be consumed within 2 years or less. A much-better value than its overpriced big-brother, I'd be happy to drink this routinely.
