Like most St. Supery reds, hot out of the bottle and still after a 6 hr. decant. Needed some time in the glass for the alcohol to blow off. Red fruit still strong on the palate. Tannins well integrated and had medium acidity, even with its age. Drinking well now, but holding-up and could handle another 1-2 years in the bottle.

Brown-tinged magenta. Raspberry, shoe leather, cedar, spices and a bit of mustiness on the nose. Medum bodied, smooth chocolate cherries, tobacco, tongue coating tannins, a little Dr. Pepper, and a dry medium finish. Impressed more as time opened increased.

had higher expectations for this one. Decanted for 30 mins to 1 hour. smooth on palate, plums and some leather, ok but not great on nose and a bit unbalanced. It was a big success in any case with dinner guests.

Wine was loaded with alcohol, so much so that you couldn't take a deep breath of it without coughing. Other than that it was a fantastic bottle. Loads of complexity. A pleasure

Like Frank sang. "From the brim to the dregs, it poured sweet and clear, it was a very good year" Well not sweet, but great nose, notes of red plum, cherries and a little leather. Fine balance, not very leggy, long smooth finish. Did not last long enough to fade.

Wonderfully complex. Drank with friends and dark chocolate, summer sauage, salt water crackers and sharp provolone cheese. This wine was a definite hit and drinking it was an event!

Full deep purplish garnet; beautifully fragrant red fruits, loganberry, cigar box cedar and shoe polish nose; friendly palate of well-rounded deep black cherry and cassis; fine length. I've always liked St Supery's wines and, despite the mediocre rep of the vintage, this is very nice wine!

This bottle is drinking at its prime right now. A solid meritage, best suited for lighter fair. Plum, cherries, and moderate oak. While a high alcohol percentage, still smooth. Great bottle to drink now. Mine was paired with a spinach bacon salad and a loaded baked potato.

Nice aromas of currant, cedar, anise, sage and pencil lead. The finish is ripe and well integrated with dark fruits emerging. I bought on sale for $25. At normal price, this is not worth the cash.

Nose of cedar, juniper and a touch of pencil. Missing a bit on the palate, I didn't think it was as good as I expected. Firm tannins, and dry too. Might have been a bit flawed, with some sherry on the nose.

Purchased the wine during a private winery tasting. Bottle was kept in perfect cellaring condition. "Meritage" is an American coined term for wines in the Bordeaux style. Although I did not find it to resemble a wine from the Medoc I do find it a good quality wine. A well balanced wine with cherry and cassis on the nose. The wine is typical Napa but toned down a bit as it is closer to a medium bodied wine than most big Napa Cab blends. With thick ripe tannins, bold cherry flavours, and heavy oak to give it a smooth texture, and a solid acidity backbone; Elu is a good Napa wine you can enjoy without having to wait too many years.

We've had this in our cellar for over 10 years. Nice, but should have drunk it earlier I think. Still very nice.

Lovely Napa cab approaching maturity, with cherry cola, warm spices, and a touch of chocolate giving way to faint secondary notes of cigar box.
