This was simply outstanding. I have not been drinking as much cabernet as I used to, and much of my cellar has been Caymus, and some very nice holiday client gifts. But this one really made me take notice. (or course it's priced there as well!). It was a fabulous balance of fruit and tannin and body - very supple and smooth. Truly special.

Always a favorite label; sixth vintage which I’ve enjoyed going back to 2008. Made in a classic, old school Napa style. Developing, with pronounced black transitioning to red fruits, spicy currant, green tobacco, dry leather and chunky red, rocky earth. Dry tannins, oak spice, and medium acidity have not yet completely integrated. Slightly austere in the mouth, but I love this style. Long, long finish. Not yet at peak, should easily cellar for another 10+ years.

In the 2013 Napa Cab tasting. This wine was not in the top 3, but all 6 wines had a rather similar profile and quality. An excellent tasting according to all 11 tasters.

Opened on a whim Wednesday night to pair with filet. Decanted for 5+ hours and drank over the next 3-4 hrs. Could smell the beautiful bouquet upon popping, but didn't have my first sip until about 4 hrs in. This is a great, beautiful Oakville bench premium cab - WAY above the estate cab and worth the $125 price. Probably one of my favorites tasting so far this year.

From memory of christmas dinner. Big, dark, bold. Earth and dark fruit. It was a tad unidimensional at this point as the fruit really hides behind the dark earth and tannin. Quality wine, but am not convinced it warrants the price point right now.

Taste of Oakville (Carnegie Hall, New York City): It's been a while since I have had this wine, I liked the wines from early 2000 vintages. Nice to revisit with a recent release to check in on it stylistically as it fell off a bit in the last decade.
Dark and rich wine. Showing notes of dark cherry, earth, lavendar. Softer than most of the 13s, I recall a 20%+ Merlot component that would have given this its softer texture. Good nuance on the finish. This will take a few years to come together, good upside

Great Cabernet producer. Medium body with impeccable balance. Needs time though, 5-10 years.

Decanted about 2 hours. Cherries. Pencil shavings. Mint. Earthy. Wow, so well put together. Paired with filet and onion soup. Elegant. Ready to drink.

Wonderful classic napa cab taste profile. lots of power and starting to integrate but i fee like it needs at least 5 more years in the bottle.
